Another Chance to hear The Sounds Collective from Sat 4th October With Tim Andresen  and Mark Mac which was Broadcast live on Stafford FM.

My Guest on The Sounds Collective this week Was Record Producer,  Remixer,  DJ, An Event organizer and  label owner, Tim Andresen he has his fingers in many pies and is the founder of the highly acclaimed What Happens label.
His early days as a DJ and the hunt for vinyl started as far back as 1986 but it wasn’t until the late nineties he propelled to local fame. In 2001 he dropped out of normal society, dedicating his life to music and hasn’t looked back since.
He is the founder of the highly acclaimed What Happens label and it’s now home to some of the finest talents in underground house music while constantly building it’s reputation.
One to follow his dreams through equal parts of talent and hard work, Tim is an artist who enjoys the writing, production, engineering and arrangement of his own records. Recently he has been serving an array of house music on quality labels such as Savoir Faire Musique, Natural Rhythm, UM Records, Ready Mix Records, Soulman Music, Seamless, Southpark Recordings, Starlight Unlimited, Elevation Recordings, Gartenhaus, Deso, DeepWit Recordings and of course his own What Happens imprint. It already seems a long time since he released on the UK's longest running house label Azuli being the man behind one of clubland’s biggest tracks of 2007 called “Everybody” but also on Toolroom as one of the "Leaders of the new school" and on Southern Fried as half part of Professional Losers being dubbed "the next big Danish housers" by IDJ. For well over a decade he has not only seen his name appear regularly in the charts but also had wide support across the electronic spectrum from DJs such as Steve Lawler, Maya Jane Coles, Dubfire, Nic Fanciulli, Laurent Garnier, Nick Warren and Hernan Cattaneo through to Erick Morillo, Roger Sanchez, Pete Tong and Fatboy Slim whom he was also personally asked to remix (#1 UK Buzz Chart). Add to that he did compilation CDs while record sales were still something to talk about. Most notably, he was asked by Ministry of Sound to mix and compile the critically acclaimed volume 1 of Ministry Sessions. They described him "Denmark's busiest house DJ" and that later led on to playing the international MoS tour.
These days see DJs come and go but Tim remains at the very frontline of the Scandinavian club scene as one of just a few DJs out of Denmark with truly international reach. His global success as a producer has given further rise to his profile as a DJ and seen him perform in more than 35 different countries across Europe and far-flung destinations in Asia and South America. That includes the legendary terrace at Space Ibiza, Pacha Ibiza, the world’s biggest club Privelegé, Ministry Of Sound in London and Fabric that labeled him "Denmark's finest export". At home ground he is the main resident at the famous Culture Box, one of the most sought after positions for DJs in all of Denmark. Month in month out, he rubs shoulder and plays with some of the most prolific DJs on earth including Joris Voorn, James Zabiela, Steve Lawler, Maya Jane Coles, Nic Fanciulli, Nick Curly, Shonky and Nicole Moudaber, helping to secure the club it’s unique position with worldwide recognition and 5 awards for Best Danish Club. His skills haven’t gone unnoticed and personal recognition came through awards for "Best DJ" at Club Awards and "Most Popular Nordic DJ" by Megamind. Not to forget he was asked by legends like Nick Warren and Mark Knight to join for memorable back-to-back sets. The latter described Tim’s party "one of the best Friday nights in the world" in The Essential Selection on BBC Radio 1.
Tim has his fingers in many pies and his list of accolades is longer than your arm. After so many years of DJing and making music, Tim continues to spread his sound far and wide and push the scene forward.

About Tim Andresen:

Tim Andresen is a cornerstone of Denmark’s electronic music culture. As label owner of What Happens and Savoir Faire Musique, and co owner of Culture Box, widely regarded as Denmark’s leading electronic music venue, his influence extends far beyond the DJ booth. His rise to international recognition, however, was driven by a consistent output of high quality productions and deeply considered DJ sets.

Approaching music as a complete craft, Tim is equally invested in writing, production, engineering, and arrangement. His catalogue spans approximately 250 tracks and remixes, released on some of the most respected labels in electronic music, alongside his own imprints. In the early years of his studio career, he was also one half of Professional Losers, earning widespread attention after a series of successful vinyl releases on Southern Fried Records. Dubbed “the next big Danish housers” by iDJ Magazine, the project included a remix personally requested by Norman Cook, which entered at number one on the UK Buzz Chart.

Tim’s DJ sets are rooted in house, moving from deep grooves through lush textures and dreamlike soundscapes. Mood led and instinctive, his performances draw on influences from techno to electronica, with evolving layers that transform each set into a distinct journey. His work has been recognised with awards including Best DJ at the Club Awards and Most Popular Nordic DJ by Megamind.

Active since 1986, Tim built a devoted following through successful club and warehouse parties throughout the 90's before establishing himself as an international artist. He has since performed in more than 40 countries across Europe, Asia, North America, and South America, remaining in demand throughout the global underground circuit. The Night Bazaar noted that “few DJs can claim to have had as much impact on their local club history as Copenhagen’s Tim Andresen”.

In 2007, he launched the legendary What Happens residency, Denmark’s longest running monthly club night and widely regarded as one of Europe’s most respected progressive house institutions. His contributions have played a key role in Culture Box’s worldwide recognition and six awards for Best Danish Club.

Alongside his performance career, Tim remains deeply committed to the scene through workshops with Pioneer DJ, mentorship with Future Female Sounds, and ongoing guidance for emerging artists. Driven by curiosity and open mindedness, his enduring love for music continues to shape a career defined by longevity, relevance, and genuine cultural impact.

Ministry Of Sound, for whom he was a tour DJ and mixed a CD compilation during a time when record sales were still notable, referred to him  as “the busiest man in Danish house music” . Known for a decades-long career, his legacy reaches well beyond the boundaries of Scandinavia. Wearing his many hats, he continues to innovate and move things forward led by passion and intensity. His tireless work behind the curtains, including workshops with the team from Pioneer DJ, a mentorship for the Future Female Sounds organisation and guidance and help for the young generation, is something that for him remains equally important. A spirit of curiosity and open-mindedness is an integral part of his approach and Tim says his love for music, more than anything else, is what drives him and keeps him motivated
