This piece is an exercise in sound manipulation. All the sounds were recorded in a park in Leicester, and then transformed to create textures and rhythmic gestures.

Here is a sample of my recent music composition and sound design work. They're a collection of textual ambiences, rhythmic textures and composition work. All source materials were recorded, manipulated and produced by myself.

Who are you?
Tim Matthews is a London based Sound Designer & Composer, looking to join a creative team of like-minded sound innovators.

What's your background?
I studied for a BA in Music, Technology & Innovation at De Montfort University in Leicester, where I specialised in Electronic Music Composition and Sound for Image. I also own and play a variety of different acoustic instruments including, Cello, Guitar, Drums and Indian Shruti Box.

What tools/software do you use?
I like to work with organic elements, recording objects, ambiences and instruments then using software to manipulate them. But my main choices for software workstations are Ableton Live, Logic Pro, and Pro Tools. But i've also worked a lot with Max/MSP.
