Levantine serves up his most propulsive, hard-edged music on this new EP for Exploited Club.

On the title track ‘High Energy’, distorted kicks suck at a tense synth arpeggio while in the distance a dramatic melody plays amidst a church-like reverb. Acidic overtones rise in the arp before big snare hits drop in and the lead melody shifts up an octave dramatically. Techno-tinged hi-hats push things forward more before we strip back in stark style and vox synths arrive to increase the haunting feel further still. Little else is needed aside from clever arrangement and juicy electronic tom fills to keep this one rocking until the very least beat.

‘Power, Corruption & Lies’ takes its cues from muscle-pumping ‘80s Hi-NRG, with a pogoing synth b-line trading blows with tight claps and gated snares by turns. Spare but spacious percussive rhythm pervades to accentuate the double-time bass, leading us to a breakdown decked out with a plucked, trancey melody and filtering, sweeping pad sustains. The tension builds before everything gels together, with the haunting feel of the title track continued here. As always, Levantine’s sense of drama and atmosphere shines through effortlessly.

Nach seinem erfolgreichen Debut mit „All i need is rhythm“ kehrt Steven Beyer mit seiner „Dancin“ EP auf dem Flagschiff zurück. Getreu des Namens bleibt kein Tanzbein stehen.

Mit den knackig und prägnant eingesetzten Breaks überzeugen die Tracks definitv auf dem Dancefloor. Der typische Groove Steven Beyer´s und den reduziert eingesetzten Vocals in typischer Supdub-Manier vollenden das Klangerlebnis beider Originale.

Alfred Heinrichs meldet sich mit seinem Remix zum Track „Dancin´“ wieder auf seinem Label zurück. Der Remix ist geprägt von einem nach vorne gehenden Beat und einer verträumten Melodie, sowie einem wundervoll eingespielten Klavier.

Abgerundet wird die EP von den Jungs Adler & Finn. Bei ihrem Remix zu „Trust Me“ geht es gewohnt minimalistisch & groovig voran.

Following his successful debut “All I need is rhythm”, Steven Beyer shall now return once more on the main label with his new Ep “Dancin”. As promising as the name sounds, be assured that no foot may remain calm on the dance floor once this song comes on.

Equipped with crisp and concise breaks, the tracks definitely persuades to get a move on. Steven Beyer’s typical groove paired with the carefully implied vocals in Supdub-style complete the sound adventure.

Also Alfred Heinrichs come back again on his label bringing in a magical remix. It is characterized by a striving beat, a dreamy melody and a wonderfully implemented piano.

The EP is completed with the boys of Adler & Finn. With their remix for “Trust me” things are getting minimalistic and groovy as usually.
