I have collected a whole lot of music from the early 90's to the early 00's. The majority of this music, as far as I know, has not seen the light of day and before my tapes disintegrate I finally dedicated some time to digitally transfer all of these gems in order to share them with everyone. When I was younger I was obsessed with the sound of the LA underground Hip Hop scene and I dubbed over 350+ cassettes from very talented, brilliant, original, and creative beings. Please keep in mind all of this music is from a time where music could not be downloaded. The music traveled from hand to hand, cassette to cassette, and when making copies from a copy there will of course be loss in quality, this is known as Analog Hiss. So yes the quality is not great but I thought it was more important to share an amazing song with not so good quality than to have it lost forever. Also, when dubbing tapes lots of times there were no titles so I made up titles for some songs. If you come across an error please inform me & I'll make the proper changes.

ABOUT
My dad used to constantly remind me, "Tim, you shouldn't compare yourself to others." 

'Rose Colored Glasses' is a new collaboration with producer, Mack Formway (Ricky Pharoe/Art Vandelay - 'Eye 8 The Crow', 'Face Tattoo') and features instrumentation by singer & songwriter, George Galvez. 

RCG focuses on the plight of the 'underdog' and our society's tendency to compare ourselves with others more often than we should. I struggled with this as a youth. In this song I reveal resulting personal insecurities I had and provide a window into my experiences with the hope that others can relate. 

In my opinion, seeing only the surface and turning a blind eye to media-influenced definitions of others' "flaws" can be detrimental to one's confidence and sense of self worth. We're going to have our prejudices and assumptions as we meet people through life--That's normal. However, I disagree with anyone who says it's dog-eat-dog world. It's about time we stopped peeking over our neighbors' fence to see what they are/have, and quit weighing ourselves on a scale that simply doesn't exist. 

I hope this song reminds listeners that the beauty in others and themselves is located far below the surface... below the visible tip of a grass' blade... within its roots per se. We shouldn't live life so pessimistically and comparatively. Walking through life with a rose-shaded point of view is not the way to overcome this either. That in itself perpetuates denial and depression. There's far more that can be witnessed and loved about yourself and those around you if you keep a, clear, open mind. - Tim Stiles

Short story: My 6 year DocuVersary is soon approaching! I hope you enjoy this new remix of Start With An 'E'!
Long story: In winter 2014, after ~3 years working in the support dept. at DocuSign, I felt so fortunate to be a part of the company that I decided to write a song. Start With An 'E' became the first of two tribute songs and celebrates our product, purpose, and team of talented, driven employees. I love the original version (prod. by J Lee Mezus) but I always felt I didn't perform on the track with the energy I originally intended. Therefore, I decided to revisit the song with the help of producer and engineer, Jay Battle. This, just as the original features the vocals of my multi-talented friend, Paradame.
