Reflec - Passage

Adding to previous 12“es on Ostgut Ton and his own RK label fellow Neuköllner and Berghain resident Kobosil offers four new uncompromising Techno club tools.

While all cuts on the 105 release share filthy, stone-cold, elemental rhythms – pounding, energetic and hypnotic 4/4 kick drum slaps – the devil is, like with all Kobosil productions, in the aesthetic details. “40000 L” uses gargling synth patterns and howling horns to dramatic effect; “Bei Nacht H (178)” contrasts the kick with a harsh, tinny drumbeat and menacing melody pad, creating a nightmarish vibe.
“Backmask N” on B1 offers heavily alienated vocal samples alongside rave-reminiscing synth stabs and staggered hi-hat percussion. “Derange” closes this four-tracker with grainy drone echoes and throbbing, sizzling synth pulses.

Adding to Kobosil’s full-floor-focussed sonic repertoire 105 shows him from his darkest and most vigorous side yet – this 12“ is a brute, in the most positive sense.

Drawing Inspiration from London's Underground dance scene, Descendants of Sinners is a result of an ongoing, passionate desire from Dax fusing modern day Techno with the sound of classic UK rave culture. 2015 has been a big year for Dax. He's seen successful debut appearances at Berghain and Glastonbury as well as his very well received EarToGround residency with Jaded at Corsica Studios and soon his long awaited debut appearance at fabric. There is a lot more we can say about the tracks individually but instead we'll let the Techno do the talking. Tracks included are being played and supported by the likes of Marcel Dettmann, Ben Klock, Len Faki, Par Grinvik, Luke Slater, Henning Baer, Truncate, Marcel Finger, Chris Liebing, Paul Mac and Anthony Parasole. Regal debuts on BPitch Berlin with one of his rare releases outside his own Involve imprint. His »The Eyes« EP draws heavily on early hardcore and the powerful acid sound that has become the Spain-based producer’s signature style ever since he started making waves in the techno scene in 2012. Over the course of four tracks however, Gabriel Cassina showcases a previously unknown side of his abilities. More versatile, more experimental, and more stylistically diverse, »The Eyes« shows Regal at his most radical. If his past releases were dedicated to updating the sounds of the nineties for the present, his  first offering on Ellen Allien’s label sees him heading straight for the future.
The breakneck title track alone will surprise even the most devoted Regal followers with an entirely di erent sound and style. Eschewing the mighty four-to-four thump that dominates most of his work, »The Eyes« is rhythmically closer to recent pieces like »Double Standard« but still sticks out from Regal’s vast discography. If you’ve ever wondered what an acid-infused early 90s hardcore track would sound like if Regal had produced it, here is your answer. It’s not like Cassina slows down when experimenting; on the contrary, he only picks up speed. »Fire left engine,  fire right engine«, a voice commands at the beginning of the cheekily titled »Overground«, which then immediately launches us into outer space and towards rave ecstasy on a 140+ bpm backbeat.
»I Need You« opens the flip in typical hard-hitting Regal style but throws two elements in the ring that give this track an unusual spin. From beneath the murky, hoover-like chords, a glistening guitar melody slowly rises above the relentless groove. Intensifying more and more, it only serves as a preparation for the emotional turning point near the middle of the track, when a seemingly familiar voice intones the track name with soulful urgency. »I Need You« is an intense and raw piece of techno, both emotionally and sonically speaking. »Stimulus« brings about a welcome change in mood after this overwhelming experience: this is five and a half cathartic minutes of acid techno at its purest, informed by the likes of Cassina’s all-time hero Plastikman or nineties rave legends like Emmanuel Top. The backbeat-driven peak time energy of »Stimulus« offers exactly the kind of dark, cosmic sound that BPitch founder Ellen Allien has been leaning towards as a DJ recently, making it a perfectly  tting closing track for Regal’s first release on the label.

Soma Label heads Slam continue their assault on 2019 with the Reverberation EP. The pair have been on tremendous form of late and their relentless output on Soma is a testament to their dedication to the grander electronic music scene. 
Title track Reverberation opens the EP with pair’s clinical production as modulating, alarm like synth work drives the basis of a suitably energetic track. Viper has the Glaswegian duo really taking things up a notch, pushing the BPM and rattling out a pure unadulterated dance floor weapon. Jarring synths attack head on as this screams full on 90s Techno assault.

DLV is the driving force behind Acid Techno Techno Club and now self-releases three of his powerful dance floor weapons.  

Acid Techno Techno Club is an organization run by DLV that meets to discuss, show, and promote acid techno in a local community setting and it has given the Austrian artist and party promoter a cult following both locally and internationally. 

His hard hitting, no frills and direct sound is pure fire on the dance floor and can be heard on his remixes for KAS:ST and Hadone, in addition to his pounding sets at his parties. 

'Rave instructor' has lasers fired out of a gun shooting across a flat footed kick drum that prowls you forwards. Vocal stabs add fuel to the fire and eventually a frazzled synth breaks free to get hands in the air. 
The excellent ‘Space Machine' is another futurist techno banger, with twisted acid lines weaving in and out of the hammering drums while bright synth patterns light up the skies. 

Last but not least, 'Transmission' brings darker energies with its stomping kicks, industrial textures and old school breakbeat flourishes all making for a hugely physical and immediate impact.
