We are delighted to present a raw, young talent from Copenhagen - the city of fairy tales. Indeed, Parks at Night, the debut album from 17 years old Teis Ortved, could very easily provide the soundtrack for a recently unearthed Hans Christian Anderson story. In fourteen moves, the devoted multiinstrumentalist tells us the tale of his relatively short journey so far with confidence that belies his age. There’s no ego or showboating here as this modest musician brings together seemingly disparate technologies with apparent ease, marrying sequenced beats and plaintive pianos overlaid by
ethereal vocals that take his very special music somewhere other-worldly.
I Don’t Like Dreaming was written when Teis was holed up in a cabin in the woods, with most of the sounds coming from a single keyboard. The physical and musical restrictions allowed him to experiment and broaden his use of the sax and vocoder, to spine tingling effect. During his time spent in isolation he found himself having bizarre dreams, and often ones that promised something more, just as he awoke to find the world around him pale in comparison. In this way, he almost felt cheated by the dreams themselves.

Volume thirteen in the ever-growing Polena catalogue is solely devoted to the spacey boogie sound of Boryn. A beatmaker, cratedigger and DJ based in Wroclaw, Poland, he released some sample-based house jams for Astropical Tapes - both solo and as a part of Astro Buhloone duo. He also laid a few beats for Polish underground hiphop releases. "Jewels EP" fuses both his house and hiphop background into coherent, unique sound.

Boryn casts his magic spell over eight tracks, sounding not too far away from such contemporaries as Dam Funk, Moon B or Sasac. In its essence, "Jewels EP" is a pure modern funk. It is the music to cruise the streets of your favourite holiday resort town or chill on the porch at night. Catchy sample-based vocal tracks (like "Telephone", co-produced by DYYU∩E) are neighbours with summer beach vibe ("New Home Studio" and "Pretty Drunk Bassplayer"). The title track, with its high BPM, strong groove and cosmic atmosphere is also one of the stand-outs on the EP. It's hard to underestimate the wordclass production level. This beautifully crafted sound allures the listener to take yet another cruise with "Jewels EP" on repeat.

if you're gonna start the new year with a bang then what better way to do it than with an incredible selection of balearic tinged exotica from a long standing (and personal) friend of us, Mr Dan Wainwright and his 'Hope & Deliverance' E.P.

Lead off track 'I Love You' is all kinds of hazy wooziness & spaced out synths & pads with a slack as heck broken beat that all mixes & swirls in the right places along this cosmic journey.

Nothing Ever Stays The Same keeps on the cosmic path and goes with a dubbed out bass thump for added measure with some full on hypnotic vocal action that sews the package up and feels a bit like Moby when he was really good and not such a bell end.

Feel ups the tempo slightly but keeps things trip and demanding some sun beams at overseas festivals. This is some serious daytime dancing style tackle that will uplift & bliss in equal measures.

Closing track 'I Hope That Joy Will Come To You' is a definite message for everyone to mantra after the rubbish's of 2020. Delay drenched synth chords & kaleidoscope pads wrap around a hooky ukulele (as played live by Dan!) and a psych'd out vocal from the man himself. No beats on this at all, they're not needed. This is pure class in a glass!

Timafei Dolinyak aka Tima Fei, is a Chicago-trained, Atlanta-taught and Ukrainian-born artist, music producer, DJ with over 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry. As a marketing strategist, creative director and co-creator of NORdjs and ICEA Tima had a chance to work and to be featured at some of the leading cultural settings such as; Spybar, MidCity, Crobar, Sound-Bar, District, Ultra Festival, Kazantip, Northcoast Music Festivals, Michigan Ave and VoyageATL magazines. Nowadays Tima resides in Tampa Bay where he motivated to educate, DJ, produce, photograph and to expand his client community.

NORdjs is best described as friends who wanted a way to spend time together. When starting out, we didn't imagine ourselves residents in Chicago's hot nightclubs, producing music, or meeting, let alone warming the floor up for, some of the world's most incredible talent. In the beginning, we just wanted to play some music and hang with friends.

It started in 2003, when as four friends started a Sunday night at Sphinx nightclub. Soon enough, the event got huge! In 2006 took in M. Sylvia. Tom changed his involvement to start concentrating on other projects, but never left us - if you ever look at our awesome website or some of our other graphic work, it's him. With those changes, the group as known today became complete.

Our world from there on out was a hurricane we never expected to hit us. We started playing at Sound-bar, where we had the true pleasure of seeing what the DJ experience is like through ourselves, and through what we learned from other world-class talent. Bookings poured in for other events, arenas, out-of-state and international venues... During much of the past few years, our understanding of music increased, and so came our next step: music production.

The hurricane is still spinning. Each day brings amazing new experiences, opportunities and blessings. We never expected NORdjs to get where it did, and be as big a part of our lives as it is.

We often get asked about what's next.

The survival and success of NOR is due to each of us being different. Each person has different ideas, aspirations, and a different way of creating - it's a blend of friendship, love of music, business sense, spontaneity and pragmatic thinking. We're proud to announce those dynamics have taken us where we never expected to go. NOR has become an unstoppable train, and we have no idea where it's going. We hope you hop aboard, and enjoy the ride with us.
