This is one piece of a bigger picture – an electronic album I’ve been crafting for two years now. No words, just pulse and texture. Every sound reflects a part of the path I’ve taken – evolving, layer by layer.

Stealth is a special compilation selected and mixed by Peter Van Hoesen. The fourteen track album pulls together his own exclusive material along with previously unreleased tracks from his closest musical peers. It comes in the form of three EPs (both on vinyl and digital), a digital download as well as a special mix CD. 

The idea here was for Peter to combine a mix album with an artist album; to marry his own music with the sounds he is influenced by. The cultured likes of Voices from the Lake, Mike Parker, Yves De Mey and Imaginary Softwoods, amongst others, all make the cut. “I believe less and less in the artist as a solo subject, whereby the ego of the artist seems to be the driving force,” he explains of the thinking behind this project. “On the contrary, I think we exist within a multitude of connections, who we are is as much defined by who is around us. Stealth is a little reminder of that.” 

Originally Peter intended to edit and remix the tracks he was sent from friends, but instead he allows them to play out in full as they knit with his own style so perfectly. The Time To Express boss here offers us a perfect window into his current musical world. It is one where there is a keen and streamlined focus on trance inducing percussive patterns (especially on his own contributions) and is where techno takes on a spiritual, otherworldly form that truly consumes your mind. “I really feel that a new chapter is starting in me,” he says. “And this project serves as a subtle announcement of that”.

Jonas Kopp presents his new audio visual project called Telluric Lines , a project oriented in canalise the energy of the powerful vortex of planet earth and represent them through the music and visuals.
The first presentation of this project was at the respected Berlin Atonal festival in past August of this year.

As a regular on Michael Mayer’s prolific label, Kompakt, Joachim Spieth has (true to the label’s vision) released a steady stream of emotive house and techno over the past fifteen years. Launching his own label, Affin, in 2008, Spieth has since become a curator and selector for his own specific brand of dark and melodic sounds.

In the meantime, we’re pleased here at Monument to present to you a spiraling wormhole through Spieth’s headspace. Enjoy an hour of his finest.

Yan is a very versatile DJ possessing the most important ability of djing and since that talent was discovered – learning from his slots at different parties and choosing the right tunes for each event he is asked to play. Affiliated projects to Harmony Rec. and promoters in Prague are well aware of his skill, which gives him even more power to dig deeper and not to bring overplayed stuff to the dancefloor. Roman Lindau has been a mainstay of the Berlin techno scene for many years, based in the home of European techno; he has become a regular on the circuit with his solo performances, and as part of the Fachwerk and Second State stable, performing at many of the label showcases across Europe. Roman’s DJ sets move seamlessly between the hard-edged techno sound to raw house sounds, these are the sets that he has become synonymous for, and which have taken him around Europe and further a field over the past decade.

Jon Hester got his start in the midwest US, living in Chicago, Minneapolis, and connecting with Detroit. After years on the dance floor he took to the decks, going on to work in a record shop, host his own events, and hold residencies that developed his sound. Music production and a move to Berlin followed, but dancing and mixing are still the inspirations that drive him to create. His DJ sets are built on physical rhythms and adventurous programming, effortlessly combining diverse varieties of techno and house. With an engaging presence and a knack for telling a story, he builds a unique connection with each audience, and works any room until it sweats.
