Here we are with the first Curle of 2014, after a lengthy but refreshing hibernation. First up is our now Berlin based compatriot Peter Van Hoesen, who has been a good friend since more than 10 years. He already did a remix for us (Curle028), a split EP together with Donato Dozzy (Curle024) and a mix (Curle025CD), but this is Peter’s first full EP on the label. We’re absolutely sure you’re going to love both tracks!

Both Donato Dozzy and Neel have appeared individually on Time to Express before, here they appear for the first time together as Voices From the Lake. The Italian duo offer more evidence of their distinctive brand of hypnotic techno with ‘Zulu Vortex’, a spiralling percussive workout. This is paired with a track from Wata Igarashi, a rising Japanese DJ and producer. ‘Night’ is a glowing, radiant piece of techno that has become a regular feature in Peter Van Hoesen’s recent DJ sets.

It has been bubbling for almost four years now inside the walls of a basement in the small-town idyll of Salzburg. Word gets around about ecstatic nights in an intimate atmosphere in the Heizkeller location of the cultural association Freakadelle. The monthly events held by the club culture collective, which formed in 2011, have long since become known beyond city and state borders, and so, national as well as international guest artists would frequently pay visits to Mozart town in the last years. Following the club members’ wish to maintain relations to the artists beyond the fleeting transience of a night in the club, this release aims at strengthening and cementing these interpersonal ties. The compilation includes tracks by Hüseyin Evirgen aka Magna Pia (Cassegrain), Institut fuer Zukunft resident Perm, techno pioneer Patrick Puslinger and Pop theorist Didi Neidhart aka Low Profiler.Limited hand-stamped 12’’ edition. Comes in five different versions of screenprinted sleeves.

After moving to Berlin in 2014, Amotik has been steadily building a base in the city that significantly inspired him. Having developed a unique style of atmospheric techno with a relentless raw undertone, his consistency as both a DJ and producer has seen him perform at some of the most exciting clubs and festivals around the globe. Amotik delivered his first full-length double vinyl LP on his Amotik label earlier in 2019 which will be accompanied by a debut live tour to end the year. The album features 10 tracks with elements of ambient, broken beats, textured soundscapes but has its foundations firmly rooted in techno and invites remixes from heavyweights Ellen Alien, Anthony Linell and Tensal.

Presiding over Stockholm's Northern Electronics label with Varg, Anthony Linell aka Adbullah Rashim dispenses a deep, hypnotic approach which can be heard on releases on Northern Electronics, Semantica Records and Abdulla Rashim Records. Anthony’s remix of ‘Chautis’ deploys his meditative production style to great effect through shimmering low end, glistening synths and alleviating elements.

Spanish producer Tensal who has over fifty releases on labels such as Polegroup, Modularz, Mord, Falling Ethics, Arcing Seas, Kynant, Float, Ownlife, Soma, Attic, Propaganda and his own Tensal Records imprint, gears his remix of ‘Paintis’ towards a modern, raw sounding number through crunchy oscillations, thudding kick drums and obscure yet brain-tickling atmospheres.

Berlin’s Ellen Allien has been at the forefront of the techno scene for many years adopting a style that sees her blend and weave between mesmerising Berlin techno, acid, freak jack slammers and classics which can be heard on her BPitch Control imprint, as well as her remix of ‘Tetails’ which adopts sharp rhythms, entrancing leads, dramatic yet euphoric leads filled with nostalgia to round off this remix package with majestic style.
