In the new album DROP, Tying Tiffany crafts her own brand of dark, icy dreamy pop, full of buzzing synths, piercing vocals, and infectious electro-beats. While maintaining that accessible pop factor, DROP finds inspiration in an eclectic mix of 90's electronica and chill-wave.

Tying Tiffany defies convention with her irresistible blend of post-punk, industrial and electronic music rooted in ethos of DIY and experimentations in the visual and performance arts. Working under the moniker since 2005, the project often reaches beyond the music and visuals to explore themes on dadaism, sexuality and feminist discourse. And even though the cited influences are extremely diverse there is an atmosphere of darkness that runs through each movement, creating a shadowy cohesion through her material.

Although a strong fixture in the Italian underground, years of intense touring have opened access to larger arenas including gigs with legends like The Buzzcocks and Iggy Pop as well as tracks featured in TV, Video Games and major Hollywood films (such as “The Hunger Games” and “Catching Fire” trailers, CSI, FIFA). While Tying Tiffany may be able to appeal to the masses, her music and artwork remains rooted in the DIY and the nocturnal - a testament to the project's impressive flexibility.

Experimental Decay
We are living in an experiment, and the future will be its results. The current state of humanity—with all its ongoing developments and choices—can be seen as a large-scale experiment. The consequences of our actions today will ultimately shape the future. Experimental Decay or Paradise?

I've always had an interest in music and sound. It started at an early age, listening to Nine Inch Nails. Ableton Live has become my preferred software. I strike a few keys on an instrument that matches my mood, and what emerges often surprises me. The way a few keystrokes and sounds accumulate into a track is fascinating. Not knowing where the track is heading —as if I’m not creating the track, but the track is creating itself.

Over time, I developed an interest in infrastructural design, social planning, socioeconomics, sociology, agriculture, systems thinking, and integrated approaches to problem-solving. Studying or simply experiencing the structure of society and the challenges people face naturally led me to these areas of interest.

More then anything the music is for myself. My unplugging and outlet. 


The Venus Project - Fresco

Whether the city proposed by TVP is feasible—within the next 50 years or even 10 years, as Fresco suggested—is beside the point. There are countless layers of social and technical components within this concept that can be applied to our current communities. It highlights the potential for improved technological understanding, alternative values, and new cultural habits.

The city model presented by TVP paints a compelling picture of a better way to design, manage, and operate communities. It’s a blueprint for living systems, functions, and methods that challenge the status quo.

Unfortunately, the various political officials across organizations and departments seem utterly incapable of developing or even proposing a concept like this—let alone understanding the complex layers that make up such a vision. If you can identify a figure capable of this, let me know.

The Venus Project serves as an excellent starting point—a frame of reference offering countless ideas and possibilities. At least, that’s what I think.

The phrase "Experimental Decay" evokes the idea that humanity is actively engaged in a grand, collective experiment—our actions, decisions, and innovations shaping the trajectory of our future. The term "decay" suggests a possibility of decline or degradation, implying that if the experiment fails or is mismanaged, the outcome could be catastrophic. On the other hand, the juxtaposition with "Paradise" offers hope, emphasizing that positive, thoughtful choices could lead to a harmonious and flourishing future.

This concept reflects the dual nature of experimentation: it involves uncertainty, risk, and the potential for both failure and groundbreaking success. Humanity's "experiment" encompasses everything—technological advancements, environmental stewardship, social and political systems, cultural evolution, and our values. Our collective choices today determine whether we move toward decay (a dystopian future) or paradise (a utopian ideal). It’s a call to reflect on our responsibility to steer this experiment wisely, with awareness of the long-term consequences.
