Following on from Hector Couto’s ‘Parental Advisory’ EP, which touched down on Roush in March, DJ.T, Ralph Lawson and Rui-Z make their way to the label this October to deliver two fresh, impressive remixes.

Known as one of the most respected artists within house, Hector Couto has gone on to set a remarkable standard since his production debut in 2008, with notable releases on the likes of Hot Creations, Get Physical, Moon Harbour to name just a few. Here we see formidable Berlin based DJ / producer DJ.T, 20/20 boss Ralph Lawson and emerging talent Rui-Z welcomed to the imprint to put their own stamps on two of Couto’s original cuts.

Our Debut Transmission today is the interpretation from Ralph Lawson & Rui-Z  which retains the bubbling make up of Couto’s ‘Like This’, whilst introducing a bumping low-end, shuffling hats and rugged kicks to reveal a track aimed firmly at the dancefloor. Hector Couto ‘Parental Advisory (The Remixes)’ drops on Roush on 31st October 2016.

The opening track, 'Equal Rites', produced together with Manchester new comer Henry Jacobs, is a deep warehouse groover build around a subtle acid bassline, whereas the collaboration with Mason Collective, 'Goofy', is a more bouncy and uplifting cut. Proper uplifting UK tech-house vibes here!

The enigmatic duo, Italoboyz, bring their distinct sound to Crosstown Rebels, and invite Crosstown affiliate Yulia Niko to provide the remix. 

The original cut of Midnight Summer Dream is a fourteen minute epic journey through time and space. The track is dark and dreamy with Durant’s tripped out vocals entwined with uplifting, cosmic arpeggios. Yulia Niko develops a deeper bassline on her take- stripped back with a grungier style.

Italoboyz, the duo of Marco Donato and Federico Marton, have been on a musical voyage since 2002. They have released over a hundred tracks for revered imprints including VIVa Music, Moon Harbour and Circus. In 2012 they launched their seminal label Superfiction, alongside Blind Minded, with the aim to create a movement. Yulia Niko has released on esteemed labels such as Get Physical, Plant74 and MATTER+, In 2017 Mixmag named her as one of their ‘20 Artists To Know Who Are Rising From The Underground’. Yulia also recently launched her vinyl only imprint, TochnoTechno.

The next artist to grace us with an EP on Roushlabel is the delightfully talented Davina Moss with her ‘Like A Lion’ release. Davina has been one of the leading ladies of Tech House for a considerable amount of time now, after a strong 2018 she is back swinging for the fences in 2019 with two huge original tracks. ‘Like A Lion’ opens the release with a buffed up persona, a strong choice for peak time grooves and loaded with bags of energy. Shuffled rhythm and robust drum work sit aloft a boisterous, groovy sub. The transitional segments of the track are melted into melody and then driven up through increasing energy with the aid of crystal clear risers and snare rolls, accompanied by a subtle level of vocal presence and delivering hard-hitting drops back into the main body of the mix. ‘Until I Play’ is the second and final tack on the EP. It runs a more stripped-back, yet pacey and underground line in comparison to its predecessor. Built with less punch in the drums but a wobbly, hysterical sub-line that commands all of your attention from the word go. Another high-energy track, laced with acid influence and outlandish vocal sampling, full of individuality and ready to turn some serious shapes on any dancefloor. Dortmund label Kittball enlist German based artists Chris Di Perri & Domenic D’Agnelli who deliver their ‘Bulldozer’ EP featuring a remix from ViVA MUSiC duo Anek.

Hailing from Cologne, Chris Di Perri made his debut appearance as a DJ at Berlin’s Solar nightclub at just seventeen, the venue he would later hold a residency in. He now shares the stage with artists like Sven Väth, Format:B and Kittball bosses Tube & Berger and Juliet Sikora across various German venues. Di Perri’s productions have been released on Deer Deer, Upon You, not to mention CusCus Music where he and Italian artist Domenic D’Agnelli first collaborated. D’Agnelli is hailed as one of the key cogs in the early 90s Munich and Frankfurt club scene, organising parties, and performing at the likes of Pulverturm, Ultraschall, The Box, in addition to his residency at Flokati.

‘Bulldozer’ offers up distant vocals on a rolling sub that build up into a dark damaging bass and steady beat, before ‘Bullis Little Bro’ delivers staccato bass stabs amidst a catchy synth riff and clinical percussion. Then Danish female duo Anek, who’ve appeared on Moon Harbour, Gruuv and Oblack, remix ‘Bulldozer’, offering an infectious hi-hat and snare, enveloping bass and flanging atmospherics.
