● For its final release of the season, Bella Ursa is proud to unveil a new series dedicated to the unearthing of undisclosed material: The Memories Series. For this first opus, Ostalgie delved into his almost-forgotten hard-drive content to create a delicate litany stemming from ethereal jam sessions, circa 2015 to 2020.

‘Discordant Memories’ is an ode to all the neglected, barely loved, or lost music. All tracks have been collected to offer a new perspective and rekindle distant memories. Whether birthed in his parent’s basement or at some friend’s place, it recalls moments of pure bliss, turbulent chaos, or meditative solitude that inspired this romantic soul to infuse his own blend of electronic melancholia.

It will be released on all digital platforms, along with a custom CD designed by Raphael Ott (AKA Itako).

«At least 82.4 million people around the world have been forced to flee their homes. Among them are nearly 26.4 million refugees, around half of whom are under the age of 18. There are millions of stateless people, who have been denied a nationality and lack access to basic rights such as education, health care, employment and freedom of movement. Currently 1 in 95 people have been forced to flee their homes due to conflict or persecution.» The UN Refugee Agency

This is the story of one of those 26.4 million refugees. 10 years ago, I left my home country. And I am still not allowed to return. Since I can not go back, I decided to recreate my memories here, in Strasbourg. I am dedicating this project to all my relatives, to my childhood memories, to all familiar places I left behind.

The project was produced in the frame of the Online Art Residency Accompanied by a Long-term Mentorship Program & Production Grant for South Caucasian Women Photographers for the Year 4 of MagiC Carpets April-September 2021.

Mentored by Newsha Tavakolian/Magnum Photos.

The program supports the South Caucasian women photographers and visual artists to produce stories covering different issues in the region. 

The program was implemented by Tbilisi Photo Festival in a partnership with Tbilisi Photography & Multimedia Museum funded by MagiC Carpets, a Creative Europe Platform.

Meet Julian, a Berlin-based vinyl collector who's starting to branch out as a DJ to share his musical passion on dance floors.

Arriving in Berlin in his early twenties, Julian quickly immersed himself in the world of music and sound. He has a big passion for sound and loudspeakers and worked as a sound engineer in several Berlin clubs, including Club der Visionaere and Hoppetosse, which had a significant influence on him.

Over the years, he sharpened his ear and taste for music by rubbing shoulders with top DJs and built a record collection that represents his musical journey. He appreciates everything from house to techno, sounds full of meaning and depth, with a special appeal for that groove that makes you smile and invites you to dance endlessly.

Je prends un ticket, comme à la piscine, pour nager avec eux. Bientôt, l’aquarium devient la ville, et je nage entre les immeubles, entouré d’un corail multicolore, comme dans un trip psychédélique.
