Following gigs at Hoppetosse and an impressive podcast for Item, the French-German, Super Venus, caught our ear with her patient approach and under-the-radar selections.

Gaining a reputation for being able to play any time of night, there's a distinct personality to her records; a fusion of downtempo, breaks and techno rooted deeply in the raw sounds of the 90s.

'I wanted to blend that nostalgic sound from when I first started with the music and what I’m currently digging. The idea was to create a journey, starting with some early 2000s electro-techno and minimalistic stuff, then moving towards a more straightforward techno, and finishing with Goa trance and Acid. It’s like a full package of where I started and where I am now. The mix is longer because I didn’t want to compress it into one hour it needed a wider timeframe for the blend to feel smooth and natural.''

Tell us about yourself, your name, how old are you, where are you from?

We are "CYK TOKYO",house music collective, playing B2B all together, making party with overseas artists, of course from Tokyo!

How did you get into music?

Everyone each has their own favorite artists, naturally we had come to go to club, so it was meant to be that we've met.

How would you describe the electronic music scene in your city?
Tokyo has many legendary DJs, but young generations guys liven up local scene, make the music and organize some party like us!

Who and/or what inspires you?

Mainly we are influenced by artists who play together in our party.
We book some DJs from around the world, so it follows that we are inspired from all over the world!
