An artist with a long and rich musical heritage, Paul Deep makes his Proportion debut with the 3-track “Fazed” EP. A single remix come from Greek artist, Blusoul.

From the town of O’Brien, part of the Buenos Aires province, Paul Deep has been a mainstay of the progressive house scene with his immaculate fusing of rhythm and melody. For almost a decade his releases have featured on an array of esteemed imprints that include GMJ & Matter’s Meanwhile, Juan Pablo Torrez’s Clubsonica Records and Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music. Over a double century of production credits thus tell their own story of Paul Deep’s success as he makes his debut on Proportion with “Fazed”.

Built upon a heavy beat and ticking percussive groove, the title track gently evolves with a range of melodic phrases that blends with sumptuous pads and shimmering arpeggios in an emotive combination. Waxing and waning with dancefloor knowhow, an exquisitely syncopated motif rolls forward with metronomic intensity to reveal a deep progressive gem. “Barion” continues the trademark rhythmic depth and rolling groove while textured pads and filtered motif enter the fray with typical subtlety and intensity. A beautiful piano sequence develops during the breakdown while a crescendo of delayed synth work paves the way for the dynamic groove to drop back into place alongside occasion vocal flourishes. Immediately revealing a slightly lighter touch and feel, “Ashura Path” excites with its off-beat hi-hats and punchy kick. Developing an expansive and beautifully cadenced synth pattern, delayed notes cascade across the stereo spectrum. Continuing a sparkling path across proceedings, the track reaches a rousing filtered denouement at the beatless mid-point before building once more through the final movement. Creamy pads and atmospheric swells add to the melange creating an intoxicating mix.

A long-term proponent of underground house movement dating back to a 2009 debut for The Sound of Everything, Harris Sgourdas has carved out a sizeable reputation over 15 years with his Blusoul soubriquet. An accomplished DJ and renowned figure in his Athens home city, plus producer of a portfolio of successful progressive house gems, the Greek star has found his work allied to some of the fines modern imprints that include the likes of Juice Box Music, Movement Recordings and Guy J’s Lost & Found. Making his Proportion debut, the Blusoul remix of “Fazed” builds around the rhythmic groove of the original before evolving effortlessly with intelligent use of familiar themes found within Paul Deep’s track. Rising and falling, a gathering sonic storm drives forwards as new melodic elements make their presence felt at the breakdown before extending through the second half with strong chord progression and club-friendly framework. The result is a powerful new interpretation that showcases craft and technique in abundance.

Juicebox Music's 77th release sees Maze 28 making his return to the label with his latest single - "Cry of the Deserts". The Albanian rising star first made his debut on Juicebox Music through "Abyss Rhythm", his contribution to the 2nd edition of our 'Fables' compilation. Better known to his friends and family as Mario Zefi, Maze 28 has been on a hot-streak with chart-topping releases on Mango's 'Mango Alley' & Paul Thomas' 'UV', as well as winning Breeder's "Tyrantanic" remix competition, alongside Freedo Mosho, on the seminal Hooj Choons. We're excited to present his latest offering "Cry of the Deserts", an Arabian-inspired track with his signature chunky bassline, driving groove & ethnic hooks.

We called upon one of our core artists for the first remix. Enter Aman Anand, the Indian artist based in Singapore, who's made 5 appearances on our imprint since 2016, including a collaboration with label-boss Praveen Achary with "Fiasco". Aman Anand's influences range across the board from Electronica to Progressive House to Deep Techno, culminating in a unique sound that truly reflects his vision, earning him releases on Hernan Cattaneo's 'Sudbeat', Frankie Vertigo's 'My Secret Agenda', Bondarev's 'WARPP' & many more. His remix of Maze 28's "Cry of the Deserts" flips the mood on it's head and heads towards the darker & hypnotic side.

The final remix comes from a collaboration between two label debutants - Molac & Nicolas Viana. The Ecuador-based artist Alan Gonzalez (aka Molac) & Argentinian-based artist Nicolas Viana, both a part of the Sendas Music Collective recently started working together. Individually, they've both seen incredible success whether it's Molac's music on Lee Burridge's 'All Day I Dream' or Nicolas Viana's music on Gorje Hewek's 'Peace Symphonies' or both on MODD's 'Amulanga' & MOS's 'Melody of the Soul'. Their organic-infused and progressive-inspired styles perfectly merged into one, as showcased via their remix of Maze 28's "Cry of the Deserts".
