This track is made for a video project a friend of mine, video artist SMOTFOG, did while staying in Riga, Latvia. He is still there... seems like he enjoys winters in Riga.

Always eyes watching you and the voice enveloping you. Asleep or awake, indoors or out of doors, in the bath or bed—no escape. Nothing was your own except the few cubic centimeters in your skull.

This is an unhurried old school synth track with a flavour of all the music I enjoyed back in the 70s and 80s. Only little drums, some tasty polyrhythm and a pretty kitschy flute melody which I love very much :-)

I made this track when I had a Herbie Hancock flashback, listening to his album "Future Shock" for a couple of days nonstop. Great album btw, for me a musical milestone of the 1980s.

In the 80s there was the good tradition of releasing "extended versions" of singles on 12 inch. I loved them! My favourites were the Shep Pettibone Mixes of the Pet Shop Boys early hits. So, to kind of honour this tradition, I made this extended version of my latest track "Ocean Drive".

In a world gripped by fear of the pandemic threat these days, this song is a tribute to the brighter sides of synthpop of the 1980s, like the sound of Climie Fisher, of OMDs 1984 album Junk Culture or the music of Ric Ocasek and The Cars.
