A Black Rainbow is the optical phenomenon of low light suspended between the arc of parallel rainbows…and this mix is what that sounds like.  I feel it as a place over  a dance floor,  as a dark and dreamy environment; like a kelp bed where dancers moved with uniquely elastic expression and where the fluidity of somatic articulation became inseparable from the crepuscular rays of dappled sounds.  

The dark-in-the-light journey here is melt in your mouth and melt your body bass-scape. It imagines the sounds of molasses and glitter while it blends grit and glimmer. A through line of shifting tempos and textures is backed by a warm euphoria of moody, melancholy, sensuous, serpentine and occasionally, grimy bass. May the spectrum of sounds anchor each end of your rainbow.

Thank you to producer friends like An-ten-nae Mfinity, Arboreal, Bass Temple, AttyA, Ashez, Peace Sine, Skysia , Senza and DJs like  Haj & Kai, Reia and Qoi,  who pushed my own deep (crate) digging into realms of sound where many little known artists have recently impressed me In a big way.  Its a niche, esoteric sound I’m on the lookout for, for sure - but my entire musical life’s journey has always been rooted in the underground.  Surfacing now is this mix, a one-shot & one-take live set. I chose these tracks for the shape of their sound, their attitude, their tone, their  undefinable quality that feels right into my current sweet spot.

Built on deep, physical bass, the track weaves together global club influences, African percussion rhythms, and the shuffly swing of UK funky. The result is a euphoric dancefloor journey that moves with purpose and heart, celebrating identity, culture, hope and collective energy.

High Vibes Festival 2025 lived up to its name and it was an incredible experience to play for such an amazing gathering of high vibes people! What an adventure to journey into the deep desert and find this magical festival nestled into a beautiful oasis, and then to be able to play on the exceptional Sound Garden stage for a dance floor ready to fully release! Truly a blessing! 

I created this set to evoke the sensuous and the sublime with powerful beats and bass-drops to ignite the fire within! The dance floor became a scene of pure wonder with electric moves and beautiful smiling faces, all pulsing together under the starry night sky! Every moment of this set was crafted to keep the vibes sky-high, and for those that like to get down with their kids, all the lyrics are family-friendly! 

Huge gratitude to High Vibes for entrusting me to take you on this journey, and to the beautiful souls who shared this magic with me! I hope you enjoy listening, turn up the volume and fly high on these vibes!!

“Cosmos” is a ballad put to drum and bass beats, a slow build rapid-fire composition that mounts up to the chorus chant “I want to be one with the cosmos, I want to be one with the cosmos, I want to be one with the cosmos, I want to be one with the cosmos.” The ending explodes into a bass saturated half time wobble, I transform voice into wails that grow into screams. I imagine the birth of the universe or an exploding star, some sort of cataclysmic hyper energy bust that is disintegrating and becoming something new all at the same time. - Daniela
