Premiere: Rafael Cerato - Moroder [Eklektisch]

Luca Mescoli aka Mess Me is an electronic music composer from Lugano, Switzerland. He has been into the music since he was 15. He talks about his style as an experiment, a mixture of genres, of melancholic melodies, classic drums, vintage synths, arpeggios, heart and many hours of work.
The debut EP, JANOWITZ EP, is refined and complete, a 360 degrees work, a match point of different influences and variations on the theme. Mess Me is able to amaze with a deep, changing and moving atmosphere. You go thought every single track like a bee goes from flower to flower. We are under a waterfall made of sensual beats and groovy notes able to fill the most refined nights.
Come on, let’s get ready our proboscis, the nectar feeding our musical desires is called “Devotion”, “Criminal”, “Janowitz”, “Say My Name”. Tracks speak for themselves, the second track “Criminal” asks for help and borrows some phrases from a speech of Malcom X, the American activist and leader for the rights of African American people.

For the sophomore installment of our various artists series ‘Watergate Affairs’, we bring you four searing cuts of dance floor mania from Ruede Hagelstein, Adana Twins, Marco Resmann and Tiefschwarz.

Kicking it off is Ruede’s timeless, future classic; ‘Flash Balls’. At nearly eleven minutes, it’s a masterfully crafted tune reminiscent of classic Carl Craig and the best things that happen when Berlin meets Detroit. Adana Twins ‘Etah’ follows with a lush palette of sonics dispersed over an incredibly infectious groove emanating in a gorgeous ballad that will surely induce those magic moments. Next up is Resmann’s ‘Mobius’, a contagious groover that delicately balances the ability to fit any time or setting, day or night from open airs to club lights. Bruno Cardoso aka Xinobi has built an enviable reputation over recent years, kick started partly by his association with Discotexas and to some extent by his outstanding release on Kris Menace’s Work it Baby label in 2010. His truly eclectic tastes and broad reaching styles have made him a genuinely exciting producer from whom you never quite know what is to come next, this is also reflected in his outstanding DJ performances. His recent remix of the Moullinex single ‘Darkest Night’ on Gomma was a highlight of the package whilst his own ‘(I Hate the Sound of) Guitars’ was a standout release for Discotexas last year.

For his latest release Xinobi drops two brand new tracks, kicking off with the excellent ‘Puma’, a classic House inspired cut that fuses an old school organ line with shuffling percussion and hooky vocal samples to great effect. On the flip, things go a little deeper with the melodic and laidback ‘Woods’ journeying into atmospheric and hypnotic territory with its mix of ethereal pads and insistent bass, quality stuff.
