A feelgood, hopeful migrants' anthem for life on the road... and on the run.

“Aren’t we all gypsies here, Ma?,” said the boy to his mother while watching a protest against immigrants in a small town in the south of Spain.  “Aren’t we all strangers here, my friend?,” said a Native American woman to an angry white man in Trump’s America.

“Gypsies We Are” was written in the shadow of such feelings.  But no anger here.  Instead, it’s a hopeful social commentary, inwardly directed. angrypeoplelikeyou stays true to its raw, organic, stripped-down production style based on intricate yet intimate, flamenco-influenced acoustic fingerpicking and baritone voice sung just above a whisper.

The lines (translated, edited, retranslated, reedited...) derive from "Philoctetes“ (409 B.C.), a Greek tragedy by Sophocles (496 - 405 B.C.). Mainly it is Ulysses speaking to Neoptolemos (The son of Achilles) in order to conspire against the bowman Philoctetes…
