The Instigator

I light the match stick everyday 
just to see what it has to say 
in the crackle sulphur serpant dance 
of burning wood and finger pain 

A flick of the wrist I put it out 
a little smoke and a little ouch 
Sometimes I wonder what I'm thinking 
thinking the thing will change 

It's the warmth of the flame I want to hold 
Don't get close as a child we're told 
For your safety stay safely distant 
until your wise and old 

But no one ever listens we're all fools 
We think we'll do with flame as we choose 
then left with charred and charcoal matchsticks 
burnt but happy like a fuse 

There was a book for it's use once people say 
but all the pages were burned away 
After using carosene as ink 
passions bound to have it's way 

The ink I use to write to you 
can't heed the warnings about that juice 
it's immortal immolation
like a star when I'm with you.

A boy knelt down where it grows the sedge

This pretty much the definition of an "Eff It" song, which are an important part of the process.  They send a red alert to the muse that by God I'll do this with her help or not.  Oh yes, you CAN do this too.  You don't have to upload it.  Just call it done.

I used the process Nate did in this video he just put together on his writing process: http://youtu.be/LYYfXLiA2-g , which means I ended up working out a melody first which makes me happy. Finally started playing around a bit más with EZdrummer which I picked up last year too. Happy, happy!

The Real Thing
