At a time when I became somewhat disillusioned with our scene, so many tracks sounding the same, producers following a formula for recognition and commercial appeal. I started digging deeper and wanted to create a less ordinary sounding mix than what I was currently playing. Hence the new name, hence the new sound... 

A Life Less Ordinary was born in 2008, a decade before I joined Saturo Sounds and 15 years to this month back in more youthful times.

I’ve been DJing since I left school back in 2000 - long before USB sticks and sync buttons took over the world. Just me, a stack of vinyl, and a cheap mixer that barely held together. Since then, it's been a bit of a journey.

I’ve played a lot of sets, collected way too many records, and spent a ridiculous amount of time digging through the dust to find the stuff that actually makes you feel something. Along the way, I studied music and audio engineering at uni, turned this into a full-time job, and built a life around sound. It’s not just a hobby or a weekend flex - it’s what I do.

I’m not really chasing attention. I’m not interested in clout or algorithms. I just care about making and sharing music that means something - something that carries weight, has intention behind it, and hopefully lands with the right people at the right time.

It’s never been about trying to be the biggest name in the room. I’ve always been more interested in the connection - that moment where a track hits and everything else fades out for a bit. That’s the magic. That’s the bit that keeps me coming back.

If you’re into deep, carefully crafted sets - stuff that’s got a bit of soul, a bit of grit, and doesn’t follow the trend cycle - you might find something here that resonates.
