When I heard the new Franz Ferdinand single "Right Action" I decided I wanted to record my own version of the song. I moved the beat into more of a triplet feel and made the song a tad faster, as well as arranging it in a more breezy style with less of the traditional Franz Ferdinand angular guitar sound.

This is a cover I did of The Racoons TV theme song a couple of years back.

I wrote and recorded this song in late February. In the process of developing the chord progression and melody, ideas about the story of this sad frog called Hector started to form in my mind. The song was written and recorded in the space of a few days as an exorcise in putting together a simple arrangement on a short deadline. Frog King is streaming on all major music services as of 4th April 2025.
