Timothy North (September 17, 1960 - May 7, 2003) was an American musician and drummer.  Best known for his hand built instrument the HOVERDRUM.  The HOVERDRUM was constructed in various forms, but always consisted of a suspended platform with multiple drums, industrial barrels, and other percussion sound sources.  Timothy was attached by a harness in the middle of the drum.  The entire HOVERDRUM was suspended from the ceiling by large garage door springs.  Sound was produced not only from the drums but also from microphones on the springs and supporting structure.  Timothy also controlled onboard processing and manipulation of all sounds.
