This cover of David Bowie's Moonage Daydream was the result of a challenge by Michigan blogger Mark Maynard. During a November 2013 interview with him, I referred to my musical style as "rural pop" whereupon he tasked me with recording a rural pop version of Bowie's classic tune which we had also discussed in the interview. Assuming he was joking, I agreed.  But I soon found Mark to be a man of his word when he launched a tiny crowdfunding campaign for $25 which was quickly met, thus committing me to my humble basement studio to produce this version. I eschewed convention by modeling my rendition after the pre-Ziggy Stardust "Arnold Corns" version which is slower and has an alternate set of lyrics.

Gimli Wave Runner

After a seven year absence, I finally decided to submit another song to this year's Suburban Sprawl Records holiday musical compilation.  This little instrumental guitar piece came together rather quickly last week and features 4 guitars, sleigh bells, melodica, accordion and about 8 tracks of boot stomps.
