A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to speak to a community of YouTube vloggers at VloggerFair in Seattle. They asked me to talk about both making money on YouTube as well as video SEO, but I used my full half hour to talk about how YouTube creators can make money from their audience.

I start by telling my story about how I earned $10,000/month from my channel after only 6 months with around 3,000 subscribers. Then I share the principles of how to think about a channel that makes that kind of money possible with a relatively small audience.

While I'm talking to a group of vloggers in this presentation and tailor it accordingly, these principles apply to almost any channel. Not to every channel, but to most channels.
