@latteo was born and raised in Sicily so soaked up coastal sounds when not staring at the stars. He has long been a DJ but is now cooking up his own rich deep and acoustic house sound. It is infused with sounds picked up from his worldly travels - from bird calls to thunder, poetic lyrics to the raw power of analogue acid synths and tribal rhythms. He combines field recordings in a way that represents his Italian heritage and often collaborates with vocalists "who have the same desire to express a rather unusual message." His Kindisch debut the "Just Friends EP" is out now!

I am an introvert, knowing that my emotions are a varied spectrum of quiet and kind experiences. That is why I have been expressing my feelings through music since I was a child. Ever since I heard the sound of rain drumming on the window sill in my room. We had a microphone in the family that allowed me to make my first field recordings right out the window. Recording the sounds on a tape recorder, and then mixed it with a second tape recorder. I think everyone can touch the fine strings of their souls when listening to music. I listened to the sound of the bells, the wind and the leaves. When it was silent, my music was born in the depths of my soul. Now I want to share my experience with you.

About Tenderheart Music. 

In January 2022, a new Ukrainian electronic music label was launched - Tenderheart Music, which will publish music in the genre of Organic Electronica. Since the day I embarked on my musical journey, I've been envisioning the launch of this Mixtape series. Its significance to me is amplified by the fact that the first recording took place on a serendipitous night in our camp - Berlin Bedouins - at Africa Burn. 

After three exhilarating days at the Burn, as the energy began to wane, I  started to play a set for our camp, aiming to provide a space of relaxation and ease. Much to my astonishment, it took no time at all for a mesmerizing and affectionate vibe to manifest on the dance floor.

In the realm of party scenes, particularly during the nocturnal hours, the emphasis is often on more energetic and progressive beats, often sidelining the space for gentle and soothing melodies. This Deep & Mellow mixtape series is a haven for all the dreamers and romantics out there, seeking beats that transport them into realms of reverie.

➢I hope you agree to answer a few random and fun questions to share with our listeners?

➢To start you off tell us what song puts you in a good mood when you wake up in the morning?

 This morning I was listening to «Stretch – Why Did you Do it?» while spilling coffee all over the floor….

➢Tell us two or three must know facts about your “Die Empathie” events that you run in Zurich? 

«Die Empathie» started back then in 2015 with Phuong. Instead of doing decoration, we create worlds. We tell a story – for one time only. Then close the book and let the memory last forever. Last time we took about 15 wrecked cars and were dancing in to the sunset on the roofs of them.

➢You have played with a number of excellent artists, tell us who blew your mind the most? 

To blow my mind, it’s rarely the artists itself that causes that. It’s a merge between music, people, occasion and most important the unexpected.

➢Since the pandemic it has been difficult time for the music scene, how has it changed within Zurich and what do you think will be different when things return to a certain “normality”? 

I have to say, that I was playing my fingers to the bone in 2020. Switzerland was on of the only countries where you could have raves up to 300 ppl. This stopped in September and I went to Ibiza to take a timeout. If someone told me, that I will go once to Ibiza to take a rest from clubbing, I would have him/her delivered to the madhouse😂

Actually I try not to worry about the «return of normality» as I can not change it. I accept the current situation and try to make the best out of it. Nevertheless I am looking forward to transmit my feelings through music in front of people and most importantly feel the warmth of hugs.

➢Lastly, regarding this mix you have done for us, can you tell us a little bit of your thought process behind choosing the tracks you chose?

 The choice of my tracks happens mostly spontaneous depending on my mood of the day. If I try to prepare the set a week earlier, I would rip it of completely the next day as I am not happy with it. I can’t listen to pumping techno when I am all alone at home. Never had. Never will. So if possible, make you’re self comfortable, if possible try to catch a sunray or two and get lost in beautiful memories – It was at least my mood while recording.
