It has been a crazy inspiring year and I was lucky to get the opportunity to express that in such a beautiful way. 

Here is a selection of pivotal ambient tracks, a glimpse into French impressionism and synesthesia, contemporary classical, film scores and sound collages from some of my adventures around the world chasing this music dream. 

This was a completely new experience for me, I've never played an ambient set before and never attempted to record music in a Gothic cathedral before. What you're hearing is a mix of line-out and microphone recordings from around the pulpit. 

Of course, with any experiment, the first time is a steep learning curve. Luckily I was invited back to this magnificent place in March 2015 and can't wait to go deeper into this process.

Francesca Macri also known by her now well known moniker System Olympia has been stretching the genres of new-wave, disco and club sounds to her whim since the mid 2010's. With her 2020 debut album "Delta Of Venus" still in huge demand sitting on discogs for a keen collectors price it only speaks volumes about Macri's fan base. Having followed up her successful debut with the synth driven "Racing Heart" and the stunning "Always On Time" in more recent years, not to forget most recently her critically acclaimed new EP "Sanctified"; System Olympia has won fans over with her unique ear and keen eye to her sound, each time bringing something new to the table. As well as performing live shows, the artist also enjoys taking punters on journeys in her diverse DJ sets and this is where we move on to the mix. An hour of leftfield disco, rare boogie gems and synthy anthems all mixed to perfection. Pop that bottle of champagne, cue up the system and shine your phone light at the disco ball in your room. "A few eyebrows may have been raised when Job Jobse snuck into our top DJs of 2014 list, but for those who have seen him play over the past few years it won't have come as a surprise. Jobse gradually built his name as a resident DJ at the much-loved—and now defunct—Amsterdam nightclub Trouw. He was a regular at its predecessor, Club 11, and his party Drukpers was the first-ever event at Trouw when it opened in 2009. Five years later, Jobse brought the house down when he span the last-ever set at the club, something he describes below as "the biggest honour I can think of." In the intervening years he played a significant role in establishing Trouw as one of Europe's best clubs. His melodically rich mix of house, techno, disco and Italo soundtracked countless parties, and as the club's booker he helped shape the broad-ranging music policy that defined Trouw. Until recently he was also the label manager at Life And Death, the label that along with Innervisions has popularised a style of dance music that Jobse himself calls trance—or at least a form of it. In our recent Thoughts on 2015 piece, we said this style has become the dominant force in underground club music; with his international bookings stacking up, Jobse looks like he's now a key name in this movement."
