KOMODO is a disco dub house project from our big brother in the culture; Gerhan Ferdinal is without doubt a very influential DJ/Producer/Remixer out of Jakarta. Witnessing many legendary parties in San Francisco while studied there in the early 90’s, He’s been spreading the love since then through deejaying in various places and spaces, including the infamous ‘Reggae Revolution’ parties in Jakarta, and his own regular Events called ‘Quirk It!’ along with his great fellow DJs up until now. Not to mention his hidden talent behind the bass and guitar, nor his loads of unreleased remixes, he sure knows how to communicate with us when it comes to music.

KOMODO - Music Akamady

An intimate, emotional synthwave ballad about words left unspoken. The arrangement builds from soft analog pads and warm Moog bass into a soaring guitar solo drenched in reverb. It’s the sound of longing under starlit skies, with a strong retro 80s vibe. Keywords: synthwave, retrowave, nostalgic, romantic, night drive, cinematic, analog synths.

Both tunes really so, so good and this is as good as a one-of as it really never comes up. This is the copy from when I found this the first time.

There was a coarse wind which cast a bitter spell across the morning. It was a sunny day but a fierce chill was present and upon the breeze, it carried a sweet sound of a cry from far, far away. These were Shaman echoes, a distant noise from across the ocean which had travelled softly upon the glow of the morning. It was eerie yet enchanting at the same time, beautiful yet hollow and haunting. These chants were supposed to guard and protect, to bring peace and fend off terrible spirits. To the naked ear they were whispers of evil but the naked ear was wrong. 

Sunrom is remixed on a new EP for Ancient Future Now, the latest instalment in a series of remix packages which has featured a prolific array of names. This time it is Tuff City Kids on duty, aka the infamous duo of Lauer and Gerd Janson.
