For episode 8 we have a very special present for you all. 2 out of the 3 DJ's from Schleichend collective crawled up together behind the decks and created this little beauty for all of us to either lean back or dance to. In their own words they described their set as "A feeling that gradually, almost unnoticed, spreads and intensifies within us. Like a bubble that sucks us in and keeps us trapped within the depths of the night. That allows us to dream without questioning who or what we are. Moving steadily through space and creating an atmosphere in which we slowly but surely lose ourselves in dance." We have nothing more to add to that, so just enjoy this little gem <3

It’s finally here! After a couple of years of providing music to the world through mixtapes and parties, the time has come and it kind of feels like a circle is somewhat closing as our very first compilation is seeing the light of day. 

This selection features eight amazing artists whose music we admire - including some good friends, many Schleichcast Allstars and yours truly, two of our collective's members. We love how all tracks stand for themselves in their unique styles as they cover a strong variety of soundscapes, moods and subgenres, but come together like puzzle pieces representing the multi-faceted nature of downtempo. 

We thank all artists involved for your trust in this first-timer-project. It’s an absolute honor and we're super proud being able to release your beautiful music while we take our first baby steps towards this label thingy. <3

Created during a tranquil vacation in the stunning village of Masca on Tenerife, this downtempo track captures the awe-inspiring serenity of gazing out at the ocean, framed by towering cliffs on either side. Mit dem nächsten Schleichcast wollen wir unseren dritten Resident, Tim Tenckhoff (@timtenckhoff) vorstellen. Das Artwork ist von Caitlin Backhouse.

~Zeit für ein schleichendes Frage & Antwort Spiel~

>>Wie kamst du zum Auflegen?
Elektronische Musik hat mich schon lange vor dem Auflegen fasziniert und in höhere mentale Ebenen versetzen können. Der wohl erste bewusste Moment ans Auflegen, an den ich zurückdenken kann, war auf einem ganz kleinen Festival: Als ich auf dem Campingplatz mit einer Handy-App zum Spaß aufgelegt habe und beim Hochblicken bemerkte, dass alle um mich herum angefangen hatten zu tanzen. Da dachte ich mir, hey das könnte doch was sein :)

2016 gab es dann die ersten richtigen Techno-Gigs in Stuttgarter Clubs zusammen mit meinem guten b2b Buddy und Mitbewohner Dominik (@domtilson). Downtempo passierte erst etwas später, als ein paar Freunde und ich im Jahr 2018 Redirection (@redirection_stuttgart) gründeten und in Stuttgart regelmäßig das Jangala Open Air veranstalteten.

>>Was gefällt dir besonders an "langsamer" Musik?
Downtempo birgt etwas Geheimnisvolles, organisches. Besonders die Möglichkeit eigentlich schnellere Tracks herunterzupitchen und ihre Stimmung dabei komplett zu verändern ist manchmal wie eine Schatzkiste aufzumachen. Es fasziniert mich, wie langsame Musik heute gar nicht mehr nur ruhig sein muss, sondern in ihrer Vielfalt fast jede erdenkliche Stimmung auf der Tanzfläche erzeugen kann.


>>Was ist dein aktueller Lieblingstrack (und auf wieviel BPM)?

Auch, wenn sie mittlerweile kein Geheimtipp mehr ist, hat mich bisher kein Festival so verzaubert wie die Fusion. Man sieht noch Monate danach die Welt mit ein bisschen weiter geöffneten Augen und fragt sich, warum unser Zusammenleben nicht überall so funktionieren kann wie in dieser Utopie der Harmonie.
