An ode to the excuses we make for not following through with what we really want to do in life, ‘Taking Your Own Time’ is from the fourth release by welsh singer Tim Thackray, ‘North of Nowhere’. Combining lo-fi acoustic guitars, keys and layered vocal harmonies, ‘Taking Your Own Time’ is a mellow, laid-back anthem about seizing the day. Recording initially began in 2020 at Pirate Studios in South London, before being finished at home.

The final track on upcoming record North of Nowhere, Hands is a mellow cut exploring falling in love amidst the backdrop of the 1960s race to space. Combining delicate finger picking with ominous synthscapes, Hands combines new technologies with simple acoustics to create a record that wouldn’t feel out of place on the Apollo 11. A staple of live sets in recent years, Hands is released as part of North of Nowhere (available 23 February 2024).
