Manzherok Rapids, dawn. Here, the water doesn’t sing — it roars. It rushes, breaks, and crashes against the rocks. Every drop strikes the granite, and the entire river sounds like an orchestra tuned by nature itself. There’s a dizzying power in these rapids: Manzherok is not just a place — it’s an experience, where the thunder of water suddenly becomes music. Manzherok Rapids are where the river turns into pure force. The water races through the cliffs, shattering on stones, swirling into whirlpools, bursting into foam, and carrying with it the breath of Altai. Dark fir slopes rise along the banks, mountains reflect in the water, and the roar of the rapids can be heard for miles. Here, nature gathers everything at once — strength, beauty, and eternal motion.

::: Amaral Borges (@amaral-borges) in “Gardens of Babylon” paints the Manzherok slopes covered with coniferous gardens. The mountains descend toward the river, mirrored in its surface, as if nature itself built its own hanging Babylon.

Mountain Altai VA: Manzherok Rapids is the third part of our Altai chronicle — a story of how sound becomes motion, and a river becomes music. This volume, part of the grand collection celebrating the third anniversary of [PIRANHA SIBERIA DUB], takes the listener deeper into Altai — to the source of a new current, a new chapter of our sonic pilgrimage. Here, dub techno ceases to be a genre and becomes an element itself — alive in every sound, every beat, every pause between the waves.
