Playa Venao is one of my favorite places to play music in the whole world, maybe my favorite after Burning Man... 
This opportunity I had to play the soundtrack for one of the most beautiful sunsets I've ever seen, allowed me to be soft, vulnerable and show a different side of myself. 
There was no need to push the vibe, no need to push the tempo, we could all just be together and feel...

And so, we felt inspired to translate all the wisdom we learned into 5 hours of musical landscapes to spread that brightness to all those wounded hearts ready to embrace healing.   

We are ALL letting go of someone, something, or somewhere … most of the time, even letting go of an identity within ourselves.

Why do we tell stories? 

We breathe, we eat, we sleep. We seek connection. These are our basic human needs. 

But there is one more need we all share, and it centres on stories. All across the world, stories are being recounted everywhere, in every imaginable way, at any given time. For telling stories is at the very essence of what it is to be human. 

The universe of stories can be broken down into seven basic plots which underlie all stories ever told. Recognising these patterns is the gateway to unravelling the universal symbolic language from which all storytelling is spun.

Enter Dragon Suplex, a twin-headed tune producing beast from Switzerland who deliver the third track with ‘Mystified’ feat. Samzing. Another behemoth, this one is equally dark and banging, bringing a good dose of tension to proceedings.

They say that there are only seven basic plots but a thousand different stories. 

And so, as the storyteller utters that age old, magical formulation, "Once upon a time...", let yourself be carried away…

Beginning with Overcoming The Monster, Chapter 24 has gathered artists from across the globe to bring these themes to life for its Seven Stories VA series.

Up-and-coming Dutch producer and Paradigm resident Malbetrieb (SoHaSo, Selador) opens proceedings with ‘Epic’. Fiendish acid licks intertwine with soaring vocal pads and uplifting top lines in a driving, melodic track.

One of the biggest producers in Ukraine, Stas Drive (Hope, Sudbeat) is up next with the titanic ‘Aphrodite’. A tribal tech groove pounds forth, underpinned by brooding and mysterious atmospheres.

Enter Dragon Suplex, a twin-headed tune producing beast from Switzerland who deliver the third track with ‘Mystified’ feat. Samzing. Another behemoth, this one is equally dark and banging, bringing a good dose of tension to proceedings.

As the compilation advances to its denouement, a little brightness starts to pierce through the storm clouds. Hailing from Peru, a breeding ground for young talent in the underground house scene, Frank Serin strikes a more hopeful tone with ‘La Sonrisa de la Mujer’.

‘Somnium’ by the London-based Chapter 24 boss Sam Pauli and label regular Reiver enhances the dreaminess on offer. A drifty, hypnotic and emotive cut unfolds into a tremendous, musical break.

Finally, the compilation ends with a focus on French producer Anton Dhouran. Having already been signed by Diynamic and with music forthcoming on Jeudi Records, Anton deploys his considerable skills on ‘Meyah’, a deep, groove-laden number enhanced by ethereal pads. The real story, however, comes with ‘A Kind Of Light’ which closes the narrative with a heroic instrumental tale.

I don't even know when exactly I heard a mix from him for the first time. It must have been 3 or even 4 years ago, it was https://soundcloud.com/ldsroom 's channel and I was impressed by his Shift II mix. I lost sight of him and didn't look for him either - too many fish swim in the ocean and the captain likes to lose his leg or even one or the other artist out of sight. Well, once again I was browsing through LDS's history and heard YEM's mix sets "cruel" and "Timberland" 3 or 2 years ago and was thrilled again. I don't know exactly what it is, but YEM grabs me with the way he sets up the mix sets. Anyway, A lot of water flowed into the sea and it took another 2 years before we got together ... For many is a 4 hours set a lot of time, for others it is a short introduction to their music collection.

YEM's words for you:
I'm just a man who likes listening and collecting music in his mixes.
This time i went back in to the tunes of past few years and compilated a set of  those that are still Music to my ears. Suspect that this type of flow was considered to be called "Deep". So let us try to dive back and reminisce how it sounded. Most of the tracks should be recognizable, but since it turned out that I was the person who pressed the buttons and twisted the knobs while recording, some stylistic interference may be noticed. Hope somebody will find this journey interesting. But that's really not important as much as people's health and peaceful living around our planet.
