Kaleidoscope Rhythm

In recent weeks, for me there was not much time to make music and to listen to music. I haven't managed to achieve everything that I wanted … not everything ran smoothly. This piece was already created in December, partly in Januar. Originally, I didn't want to publish it. But it is part of my memories … and perhaps one of you like it :)
The piece was inspired by a winter thunderstorm, the atmosphere was very bizarre.  It is more experimental stuff, abstract electronica. I wanted to achieve a specific sound aesthetics. I used different sound sources: manipulated samples, recordings (for example a lighter), Hang (Pan Drum) ... and synths.

Bizarre Winter

Time flies by - I had the need to stop the time and to linger in a dream :) So is this piece slow and more contemplative. Among other things I used self-made pad sounds, time stretch effects and some micro glitch elements to create a special mood. I hope you enjoy.  Thanks a lot for listening!

This piece offers different musical influences from the world, but it is mainly influenced by mongolian music. I worked with free samples from the expedisound project, played/sung by the mongolian group „Nomadic Winds“ (Yatga/Zither, throat & overtone singing). Nomadic Feelings

After prolonged inactivity, I'm back with a more minimalist piece. Sound sources: ceramic sink, ceramic tiles, ABS pipe bass, 808, bassoon, different glitch effects. Only „quick&dirty“- mixing/mastering. I hope, I will find more time and inspiration to make music! Thanks a lot for listening!

Repetitive Reflection

In Lusatia, where I live, the wolf is back. Meanwhile, it is a region with the largest wolf population in Germany. At times the wolves come close to the villages... The people are reacting to this situation in various ways, between primal fear and fascination. So I tried to incorporate this mood into this arrangement. Maybe a little bit to overpowering in some parts ;-) I enjoyed working on this soundscape.
I think, we have to learn to live with the wolves. Respect!

A short story from the big city ;-) At first I improvised with a fujara overtone flute and finally I built this track with additional field recordings, bass, drums, sitar (virtuell) … so this musical snapshot came out. The Text is a bit shortened by me (see brackets):
Part 1:
My head a swaying dance ship, and I am a passenger, a dancer on the high seas with swell, which has already driven the other guests, if they exist at all, to the railing to disgorge. Rather, I am still the only remaining passenger on the ship, who realizes that the crew has disappeared and now all tasks are to be taken over by him as soon as possible, because otherwise? Otherwise? I don’t know. Day, what else?

Mein Kopf ein schwankendes Tanzschiff, und ich Passagier, Tänzerin auf hoher See mit Seegang, der die anderen Gäste, falls es sie überhaupt gibt, längst schon an die Reling vertrieben hat, sich zu übergeben. Eher noch bin ich am Schiff einzig gebliebener Fahrgast, dem klar wird, dass auch die Mannschaft verschwunden und nun alle Aufgaben von ihm selber schnellstens zu übernehmen sind, denn sonst? Sonst? Ich weiß es nicht. Tag, was ist sonst?

Part 2:
And answer me: Nothing. There is no doom, only the well-known happenings, which slowly and rowing with my fears take me out into the open sea, where octopuses expect me in many-armed symphony of perdition. However, it is time to change the perspective / line of gaze, pushing a draft obliquely through layers into the not yet painted. A weather condition which changes the course, in which as under hypnosis, the captain, taxwoman, instructor, the beating, fearful heart, blinded in the fog only face with a narrow view of the tube to exactly that sea cutout, that predicts the doom dark and menacing.
Enlarge the tube. Remove the restrictive monocular. Recognize that any small section that was considered a reality, a point only, tiny zone in immeasurable variety of possibilities. That I was deceived, hypnotized on exactly one thing, to inflict the greatest possible damage to me.
And now? I turn slowly around my axis and let my eyes wander. 

(Everywhere my gaze clungs to, it goes deep into it, and I see that in the respective point entry into spheres, zones, layers, which bring life, my life-boat, no longer in logical references causally from one point to the next. It seems, …)

Und antworte mir: gar nichts. Kein Untergang, nur das bekannte Geschehen, das langsam und an meinen Ängsten rudernd ins offene Meer hinausführt, wo mich Kraken in vielarmiger Untergangssinfonie erwarten. Doch ist es an der Zeit, die Blickrichtung zu ändern, schräg durch Schichten ins noch nicht Gemalte einen Entwurf zu schieben. Eine Wetterlage, die den Kurs ändert, in dem wie unter Hypnose die Kapitänin, Steuerfrau, Instrukteurin, das schlagende, ängstliche Herz, im Nebel geblendet nur mehr einen engen Röhrenblick auf genau den Meeresausschnitt richten, der Untergang dunkel und bedrohlich prophezeit.
Die Röhre vergrößern. Das einengende Monokular weglegen. Erkennen, dass jeder kleine Ausschnitt, der als Wirklichkeit galt, ein Punkt nur, winzige Zone in unermesslicher Vielfalt von Möglichkeiten. Dass ich einer Täuschung unterlag, hypnotisiert auf genau Eines zusteuerte, mir größtmöglichen Schaden zuzufügen.
Und jetzt? Ich drehe mich langsam um meine Achse und lasse den Blick schweifen.

I hear the sound of water and get inspired to create new sounds. I also find it fascinating how water sound pictures caused by low frequencies (sound in water).

Sound of Water

I created this arrangement on the occasion of „100 Years of Bauhaus“.  O.K., it has become a bit strange and quirky ;-) I had the desire to play with absurdity …
Bauhaus was a german art school created by Walter Gropius on 1. April 1919 in Weimar.  I look forward to the many events, exhibitions and festivals!  
I'm especially interested in the beginning time. The Bauhaus was at that time an interdisciplinary, experimental art laboratory with social-reformist utopias. Life in the „Bauhaus Weimar“ had the charm of Bohème. It was about something experimental, about something that was never finished, about community and contact, about an exploration of body and space. It was a kind of community with new forms of life and love. The freethinkers celebrated legendary festivals. In this context, there are also some connections to the Dadaist movement. In May 2019 the 8th DADAMENTA is celebrated in Weimar under the motto "Dada meets Bauhaus“. 

I also find the female artists of the Bauhaus particularly interesting. For example Marianne Brandt with her photomontages. Very inspiring! In this regard, I have updated my profile picture (test phase). I had a lot of fun :))

Last weekend I attended a yodelling workshop. In this context, I busied myself with the overtone (throat) singing.
In this piece, I used the following vocal samples: a vocal sample of myself, the remaining vocal samples are from Dume (Expedisound Mongolia - Free Live Pack):
- 4x "Gamzorig-khumi"
- "kids in the garden hip hop" - with this funny sample I added a short hip-hop-style. So this piece moves in the tension between tradition and modernity. For the percussion I used SoundObjects (SonArte), TR-808/505 and the Wavedrum.
The whole thing was a lot of fun :))

Boomerang (Jew's Harp + Didger session)

This piece is just for fun and in memory of a great time: Recently I was traveling with a circus project. Involved were young people and people with disabilities. It was more a circus of life, where we intend to discover and remember what is really essential in life: treat everyone with respect and value differences. It's okay not to be perfect. We also had a lot of fun... Against this background I produced this track with 'strange' sounding instruments:

- a Goldon Toy Piano
- a "Singing Saw"
- Grandpas mouldy piano with broken membrane... (sampled by Detunized)
- Guitar as a percussion instrument 
- a ruler etc.
