A tribute to my late Aunt Jo, a deeply loving, profound and troubled character. Though mostly misunderstood, mistreated and overwhelmed, she never hesitated to knowledge, embrace, and lift those around her. Her life was short but if you took the risk to peek inside her soul for just a second, the glow you witnessed impacts for an eternity.

Her work embodies the most compelling characteristics of Negro Spiritual, Gospel, Sharecropper Folk Song, Country, Bluegrass, Folk, Acoustic Blues, and playful hints of Rock, Pop, and R&B.  Elements of these historic American music styles took on great meaning in Tina Jackson's childhood. Essences of these great genres will always underly her creative spirit. Her unique view and experience with music and storytelling is always expressed with captivating authenticity.
