Love for God

When I lived in Colorado I was walking at Settlers Rock with my dog after dropping my children at school for the morning.   As I was walking along the trail it was if the rocks were speaking to me.  If you have been to Boulder, CO and where I was you know how large these boulders are ..and I was admiring the beauty of the land and stillness I felt in the air, the clean air.  The sky jet blue.  And, as if written in the sky I saw and almost heard the words "Creation" in a whisper.  The thought came in on the winds into my mind something like that ..it is hard to explain.   

A few months later, I was at Gunbarrel at the Gifted and Creative School my husband worked at ..he had to attend a meeting so he asked me to fill in for his class.  The assignment was to write your own creation story.  The students being gifted got right to work it was so quiet in the classroom something propelled me to sit down and take a pen and piece of paper and that's when the lyrics rolled onto the paper like magic with not much thinking on my part I wasn't trying to write a song.   When I looked at the piece of paper after this all spilled through me I thought I can put this to music.  So, when I got home I put these chords to this.  That was 2003.  I recorded this in a new version 2023 for the first time.

This song was created in a month or so.  I like to get the original idea recorded then work with first idea is best idea ..try not to do too many edits and keep the original form to keep a raw sound and not over processed.  I love a rich sound quality with complimentary instruments creating a drone sound and layered with beautiful melody and rhythm section that pulses.

With a bluesy feel, this song is about being available any ol time for my kids no matter what time of year, day or month..letting them know I'm always here for them..no matter how busy my life gets I'll take the time to take their call and put them first.  As a mom, I have really enjoyed raising my sons and now that they are in their twenties I've had more time to do the things that I love like create songs.  Enjoy!
