See You In Berlin

The duo’s first creation as co-composers, reminiscent of new chapters in real and imagined worlds. The final section, ‘Tihailand’, is a minimalist version of an Indian rhythmic cadence – Steve Reich meets Hindustani music.

Grasshoppers

Man And His Shadow

The basic building blocks of all mechanised creations, imagined in an anthropomorphised way, reacting and conversing with each other. In the chorus, the instruments cross-phrase a chord progression, simulating gears and pistons.

Oranges in Winter

A lullaby for a snake, beginning with a meandering, largely through-composed section, exploring the idea of a unison melody. The second section derives its sonic quality from the idea of part-sharing (hocketing). It’s intentionally ambiguous to determine who’s playing what. Here, as with much of our music, simple musical devices are re-contextualised, making them sound new and enigmatic.

Trees

A pastiche of sounds from Indian and European music, shaped into a ballad with two main themes – harmonizations of a simple melodic phrase inspired by Hindustani music, and an homage to French impressionism.

Samhiβ

Soundtrack for a bold young character navigating varied terrain and encountering creatures on her adventures. Alice in Tinctures wonderland.

Uncharted

A duo based out of Bangalore and Berlin, exploring the nature of consonance and dissonance on the piano and guitar. Featuring Aman Mahajan on piano and Nishad Pandey on guitar, performing original repertoire with tinctures of jazz, Western and Indian classical music, and contemporary influences. Improvised chamber music.
