Blending a few layers of samples taken from 1938 Hammond Novachord No.346 with some previous live recordings I'd captured from the beast suddenly had me daydreaming of Lulworth Cove and the Jurassic Coast which is one of my favourite places on planet earth.

Obviously the Novachord doesn't sound like this out of the box but it often amazes me how easily just a few carefully chosen layers of material from the beast can quickly end up producing huge ensembles and washes especially when some are played at half speed.  I think this is in part due to the Novachord's six free-running vibratos which produce a very organic sea of wobbly goodness.

Latest single ‘Avarice’ is the opening track from Throwing Snow’s powerful Mosaic LP. Beginning with discordant, layered strings and a heady drone, a sparse beat propels it forward, heavy with atmosphere and mood. The release also features hard-hitting VIP versions of ‘Avarice’ which you can hear here and ‘As You Fall’, the latter featuring London-based songwriter and visual artist Py, both of which were developed for the dancefloor as Throwing Snow took his live show around the world. Finally, AUS label owner and !K7 A&R Will Saul & production partner Komon offer up a remix of ‘Hypnotise’, with Kid A’s vocals swirling around a dark, propulsive beat.

Though here on this release for GMT, Fernando takes an opportunity to reflect on his new found German home & surroundings.

Enduring the struggles of learning a new language & finding his groove away from the familiar,  Fernando has taken the past year to embrace the challenges of change & isolation...delving deeper into the subterranean lands of his own mind & bubble, meditating & interacting indepth with the great outdoors regularly.

Approaching his trusty 8 track Yamaha MT8X & machines in a different way this time, ‘Magnolia Shade” offers an honest look into Fernando’s unique style of one-man-band, Ambient Island Dub.
