Super Cartography Bros. is the 55th album published by OverClocked ReMix. It features seventeen tracks from fifteen artists in three unique versions, arranging map themes from nine soundtracks of the Super Mario series for various Nintendo platforms from the NES to the Wii U.

While I wrote the soundtrack for Julius's previous NES game "Super Bat Puncher", this time around I produced an arrangement/remix incorporating a few of the tunes he wrote for Micro Mages, exclusively using my circa-late-90s Yamaha MU100+PLG100DX (MIDI rack synth/rompler with DX7 expansion) for all sound except some in-game SFX in the middle section. I was inspired by the game soundtrack albums that were released in Japan during the late 80s/early 90s (NES/SNES era), which in addition to featuring the original in-game songs would also feature studio-produced "Arrange Versions" of one or more songs, and which often utilised comparable (now antiquated) synthesizers. Who knows if I hit the mark, but it was a fun project :)

If you thought the first battle theme wasn't enough of a bop, then you're in luck. This is the first game that's made me intentionally look for more enemies to kill just to hear the music...

This is my submission for the game's official weekly challenge, and I couldn't have had more fun arranging this. This is definitely one of my fav's from the soundtrack!

I really wanted to spend more time on the second loop to add some variations, but I have school starting for me right now and it ate up most of my time. Although it's always a good feeling to meet a deadline!
