Adam Tiran is part of a new wave of intrepid DJs and record collectors searching out deadly rhythms from far-flung corners of the globe. 

Whether hunting down bossa 45s in Rio, kwaito tapes in Johannesburg or deep house cuts in his hometown of London, Adam digs deep to unearth hidden gems from generations past, present and future - with eyes fixed firmly on the dancefloor.

As founder and editor of Urban Essence, Adam has over the past six years helped establish one of the UK’s vital voices of the underground, on a quest to explore outernational electronic soul.

From Boz Scaggs to Brenda Fassie, Roy Ayers to Rhythm and Sound, Jorge Ben to George Clinton, Adam's wide-spanning selections have seen him grace some of London’s top venues (Egg, Scala, Cable) and radio stations (NTS, Radar Radio, Soho Radio). 2016 saw him perform a trio of sets at Glastonbury Festival with Urban Essence.

Through his work with digital distributor Africori, Adam has a direct line to the freshest music coming out of the African continent. A keen journalist too, he's penned words for Resident Advisor, The Ransom Note, and Pulse Radio.
