This is my second studio release called "Sensory Overload". I worked on this project for the majority of 2021 and a bit of 2022. The theme behind this album is all about the effects of mental health and the recovery from it. I had a rough 2020 like many other people around the world and this album expresses my experiences. I hope you enjoy it.

Redemption

This track describes my view of my City, Ottawa as being both cold literally for the majority of the year but also cold when it comes to the personality of its inhabitants.

It also touches upon my experiences dealing with the cold masses.

Bone Chilling

This track describes my feelings towards medication and the pharmaceutical companies when it comes to mental health. I felt like I was being experimented on but in hindsight I wasn't complete wrong.

FRANKENSTEIN

This track talks about my perspective as someone dealing with mental health issues. Hopefully people who don't have to deal with this burden can understand and empathize with others that do have to carry this burden.

iLL MENTALLY

This track is about how my city treated me when going through episodes. Even coining a nickname " Bruce " . The Laughing fool was a persona I created as a coping mechanism to combat the pain I was experiencing.

An anecdote from a manic episode that effects permanent scars. Always remember that mania can kill.

Often times the moments leading up to our demise are very normal and then the unexpected happens. On the other hand, sometimes our decisions making leads us right to our demise. Try to avoid the case of the wrong place at the wrong time.

Heisenberg

Enough of the hate and violence in the streets. We are all just too used to young men losing their lives in the rough streets. Kids lacking opportunities turn to their heroes preaching violence in hip hop thinking the trap life is light work. Pray that we find more leaders in this vast community.

Born and raised on the tough, working-class east end of Ottawa, Canada, Spirit Bear  grew up in an environment shaped by resilience, faith, and perseverance. Later relocating to Barrhaven, an affluent neighborhood in Ottawa’s southwest, he found himself navigating the stark contrasts between urban community housing, farmland, and a mixed neighborhood where mansions stood alongside public housing. These diverse experiences shaped his worldview, instilling in him a unique perspective that would later fuel his artistry.

Coming from a loving family of conservative Somali Muslims, music wasn’t a part of his early upbringing. His music blends thoughtful lyricism with captivating beats, offering both honesty and excitement in every bar.

Above all, Spirit Bear aspires to be remembered as “the world’s counselor”—a guiding voice for listeners facing adversity, seeking wisdom, or simply trying to make sense of their journey. His art stands as both therapy and testimony, aiming to uplift and challenge while leaving a lasting impact.
