This is an excerpt of a Discomfort Dispatch event that happened in Worm, Rotterdam on 01. 05. 2022. An improvised narrative that sprouted as a response to a challenge from a fellow musician Leilani Trowell-De Turck (that played the friction drum during the speech). The narrative was fully made on the spot, in real-time, instantly composed - and includes something that Sainkho Namtchylak once told me.

All the patients of patience, please listen carefully to the following manifestation of words in time, about time.

While we are in the spatial-temporal in-between space, the existence of history and future must not be deleted from our memories and imaginations. 

The contemporary moment is constructed out of all the possible temporalities - here, we mention the most elemental ones - the past, the present, the future and everything in between.

Have you been waiting for better times?
Have you been waiting long? 
Still keeping up with all the punishments of reality, with the promise of a better future?

Could you even look backwards?

What is this better time that everybody is striving for, as if it was a commodity that you could get, buy, own. The tendency towards a better time.
A human must be dedicated, firm and decided - the alteration of the state is to be reached by all possible means, it requires an active, focused and present proceeding, a sharp intention.

Sigh about this unbearably extended moment between the state of waiting passively and the state of action. 

Please remain calm.
Are you letting all this time you are waiting to elude your memory?
Can you try to actively wait for time to end?

Can you detain tears or anger when you realise that the time continues after all?

Can you convince yourself into the feeling that time does not exist during transition?

Process and activity that we are not even sensibilized to observe, slip through our fingers like sand from the upper to the lower part of a sand hourglass.


Do you ever catch yourself observing others in states of: 
        passivity?
Do you ever catch yourself observing others in states of:  
                         					        action?

The turnout is unpredictable. 
Expectations are unlimited.
Everything is possible.
And when everything is possible, even nothingness holds us responsible.

The declaration of time

This is a field recording that archives the sounds of the Maastunnel (a tunnel under the river Nieuwe Maas in Rotterdam, NL) before being renovated in November 2019. 
I presume that after the renovation, these sounds will disappear, being exchanged for sleek, buzzing sounds of newer stairs. 
The sound is transient, the memory of it feels like a forgotten dream.

Constant Embrace

Tisa World [Slovenia, 1996] is a multidisciplinarian - primarily a vocalist, a composer and a conductor. With her voice, language and presence, she resides in the now; inventing interaction models that reach beyond the grid. When performing, she sources a song from the beyond, imaginatively plays with structures, narratives, poetry and emotion. In her research, she mystically traverses the practices of composition and improvisation, emphasizing their emancipatory potential. She performs, exhibits, curates and publishes around the world: promiscuously, collaboratively, spontaneously and with great joy.

In 2024 she became one of the residents of the Hamburger Community at Roodkapje Rotterdam; and inaugurated a new rehearsal and performance space “Sound Room” at De Boog Rotterdam. She is a member of various ensembles [Stepmother, Tisa&Mojca, Shall we?, Warping, Triangulation, Voronoi Collective] and communities [RE#SISTER, Singing Club Rotterdam, De Boog]. Her long term community project for interdisciplinary improvisation “Mystery Sessions”, sporadically expands into a “Mystery Show” - a voice-based intuitive radio-play on Radio Worm, where she also hosts interview radio shows “The Side Entrance” and “Residential”. She completed a bachelor in Fine Arts in Ljubljana, and a masters in Experimental Publishing in Rotterdam where she is currently based.
