- Got the idea while playing the accordion. I was simply experimenting and played a good riff. I went straight on FL to create this.

- this is a 'vinylised' version of my track "Basics", basically the same sound but with pops, hiss and dust, which resembles the way it would sound if played on vinyl. Plugins: iZotope vinyl & milli vinylli
- heard this track yesterday: https://soundcloud.com/mikaileraslan/terrence-parker-somethin-here and the unbelievable bass made me realise I didn't have any track featuring this kind of sound.
- plus a friend of mine told me he made his family listen to some of my tracks, and they all said they were lacking low freq sounds...
- Therefore, here comes 'basics' featuring 2 layers of bass (BooBass + Nexus preset "BA Click bass") with a kinda strong Disco influence (violins, huge bass) and 6 layers of guitars!
- starting more and more to stack the layers. When done correctly, the different instruments can really associate beautifully with each other and create a new, unique sound... the possibilities r endless
-made all the drums breaks myself :D
- weird guitar sound at the beginning is actually stock from Fl studio: preset "easy Wah" in plugin FL Slayer- try it! thought it gave this weird disco atmosphere!

Basics (Vinylised Version)

New:
- a friend of mine made me listen to what he calls to be "celtic edm". It actually sounded really good, and being from a celtic region myself (bretagne), here's my take on it.
- Used kontakt 5 for all the melodic instruments. presets used: "Accordion" from Kontakt factory library; "highland pipes" from the same library; "12 basses- Adventure" from Trailer Strings by musicalsampling; Cimbalom from spitfire Audio
- Playing some Irish jigs & reels with the accordion myself (irl), i had a few ideas as to how to make this track sound celtic. I basically added small ornements on the hornpipe line, barely hearable-but yet preset- small chants behind the instruments at some points (intro, second chorus) as folk music, they like to have this long-lasting root note (In french we call it a "bourdon"); + a violent kick.
- My fav part is definitely the cimbalom playing arpeggios. what's yours?

- i originally wanted to tackle the future bass genre, after hearing tracks such as Skin by Jinco
- eqing was extra hard on this one, maybe the hardest i've encountered. everything was just so loud at the drop, and i had to use a shitload of sidechain to make the kick stand out. but i'm really happy with the final result, i find this drop to be one of my best.
- this explains partly why you can't really hear the small added sounds behind the drop. I like them a lot btw, idea came from nowhere. especially the melody at 3:20
-I love the synths. though i'm pretty sure i used too many filters.

this time (Future Bass)

New:
- i wanted to create a track that was heavily reliant on bass frequencies, and i found this weird preset that seems to change the way it sounds everytime it plays. so i based a track around it.
- basically previewing what i was doing with the drop was a bit hard as bass synth kept switching sounds. I wasn't even sure what the render was gonna sound like.
- i could render it 100 times and it would sound different each time. that's what i love about this track.

- this is an experimental track, never finished.
- I found this random mp3 file and managed to upload it to soundcloud before uninstalling fl studio when i stopped making music, therefore the upload date does not mean much, Katarakt is actually 5 months older, just like all my other "Stage 1" tracks.
- 3:00 is my favourite part, especially the piano build-up at 3:30.
- iirc I didn't want to make a lot of fuss around the drop. simple kick.
