The latest release from Clubsonica Records finds the label showcasing the first edition of their Sampler Series. The Colombian imprint's popular MMW and ADE Various Artists releases have become an annual highlight for progressive music aficionados. Clubsonica's Sampler series will look to operate under a similar ethos, showcasing the best of progressive house and its closely related derivatives of organic house and melodic house and techno. 

Hailing from the Netherlands are Around Us production duo and Mexican born, USA based Reyul Mather. Around Us and Reyul now further their collaborative efforts with their Clubsonica debut entitled 'United'. Beginning with tepid beats and a warm key changing groove, its rhythmic energy grows quickly. Waves of percussion and playful arps add a buoyant energy across the first act, as sweeping effects provide a bridge into the main break. The centrepiece continues to elevate mood through a maze of meandering arps and warm bass swells before modulation peaks and the groove drops for a smooth finish.

The second selection finds Austin Leeds and Danko Skystöne presenting their latest collaborative effort 'July'. Austin and Danko now make their much anticipated Clubsonica debut with 'July'. Muscular beats, mountainous bass tones and clattering percussion set the piece in motion, as wispy effects and hopeful overlays slowly encase the framework. Fragmented arps further the narrative, creating a meditative state leading into the main break. Short but impactful, the interlude captivates with its timely modulation and striking percussive cadence, eventually building to a groovy drop and charged finale.

The release's third collaborative selection has Juan Ibanez, Cedren and Manu-l presenting their latest studio creation 'Joy Trip'. Having made his Clubsonica debut just last month with a joint single in conjunction with D.J. MacIntyre, Juan now team's up with Cedren and Manu-l for their contribution here 'Joy Trip'. Energetic from the start, it's rolling, swing heavy foundation is anchored with perfectly sculpted beats. Layers of driving percussion move forward, blanketed with arpeggiated overlays and haunting vocal wails. Emotion peaks as the main break unfolds, with the cascading theme giving way to a rush of noise and beats for a fluid, key changing finale.

Selection four welcomes the fast-rising Ric Niels to the label. Ric presents one of the most anticipated tracks of his young career entitled 'Desire'. The Argentine's knack for creating nostalgic progressive house continues with a rolling groove and timeless stabs uniting for an emotive environment. Emerging rhythms add nicely to it's spirited drive leading into the second of two breaks, where gaseous soundscapes prelude a purring final movement.

The collection concludes with the welcome return of Dutch production outfit Solid Sessions. Founded in 1999 and based in The Hague, this trio of artists came together to produce the seminal 'Janeiro' in 2000. Championed by Sasha, John Digweed and Pete Tong, the eleven-minute Balearic anthem went on to be remixed by Armin Van Buuren, James Holden and Lemon8. Now presenting their first new production in many years, Solid Sessions makes their Clubsonica debut with 'El Naya'. Deliberate and dynamic from the outset, its dark electronics and cavernous groove eventually give way to a striking melodic concept. A commanding presence proves to be the perfect prelude for the narrative to shift as the main break unfolds. Colourful musicality opens up into waves of emotion, gently rising towards a percussive drop and atmospheric finale. A timeless creation from Solid Sessions which rounds out the first edition of Clubsonica's Sampler series in fine style.

An artist at the cutting edge of the progressive house movement with an unmistakeable sound and unrivalled talent, Dmitry Molosh continues to hit soaring heights with each successive release. As prolific as he is talented, the Belarusian star has been a regular on Proton Music since 2016 with remixes for the likes of Kastis Torrau, Trilucid & Phil Martyn, and Andrea Cassino & Greenage. November 2020 saw the release of his debut original track in "Little Friend" with interpretations from Imran Khan and LADS & Traumhouse, as Dmitry now follows up with "Winds of Change". Redolent in trademark percussive groove and deep kick, a grooved bassline holds interest firm as a heavy bass stab adds juxtaposed power. Subtle melodic flourishes in the form of free-flowing piano, add delicacy and lightness of touch as all elements combine in the second half to create a stunning new addition to the Dmitry Molosh portfolio.

A welcome returnee to Proton Music, Matter has a host of powerful original and remix material to his name, both under solo and collaborative guises, making him a firm favourite with the label faithful. Through his "Pronoia" and "We Are Dust" EPs, the Australian shone a light on his creative talent in 2016 and 2017, while collaborations with fellow Melbourne resident, GMJ, have seen the duo light up the label with a trio of original EPs. Remixes of Dousk, Embliss and Michael A have shone a different light on Matter's talent as he now returns with a typically impressive sound, characterised by a whip-cracking kick and rolling groove. A trademark bassline full of power and emotion muscles its way across the low end as subtle melodic touches hint at elements from Molosh's original. A glorious progression, layered with textured pads, form the perfect foundation for the piano so redolent in the original to take its rightful place at the centre, as arpeggios from the Matter arsenal wax and wane across the top. Building to a rousing crescendo at the mid-point the sequence hits its stride again in the third movement to incredible effect.

Regular collaborator with Nick Warren and highly talented artist in his own right, Nicolas Rada is an artist whose talent and creativity continues to grow with each successive release. An accomplished pianist, the Argentinean has seen his star shine ever brighter in the underground dance universe with his work signed for the likes of Armen Miran's Hoomidaas, Nick Warren's The Soundarden and Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music. A trio of remixes for Andre Sobota, Matter and Rick Pier O'Neil between 2017 and 2019 have lit up the Proton Music catalogue and it is now an honour to welcome back Nicolas Rada. With a glorious remix that glitters in an understated energy, an arpeggio rich in shimmering delay ripples across the 8-minute track. Combined elegantly with Molosh's piano parts, a collage of sounds and textures build and fall away amid a lavish rhythmic gem. A metronomic kick holds the melodic elements in check as a clicking, ticking percussive top-line adds groove aplenty in a reworking that showcases all Rada's skill, craftsmanship and technique.

A showcase of fresh talent from the global electronic scene, Anjunadeep’s Explorations series returns for its seventeenth instalment, this time curated by Above & Beyond’s Tony McGuinness. Regularly livestreaming extended deep sets on Twitch, Tony continually demonstrates his affinity for groove-laden tracks, and his capabilities as a selector of deep house are on show on this new four-track EP.

Kicking off the compilation, Fingerprint, a new project from Tony McGuinness, and rising Anjuna star Spencer Brown collaborate on ‘Santorini’. Leading with cascading synths and bouncing drums the dynamic duo demonstrate their renowned production techniques. 

Next up, Argentinian based DJ and producer Sebastian Sellares marks his Anjunadeep debut with ‘Garden of Eden’, featuring a bold bass and ambient melodies. Third track ‘Petrichor’, from Brazil’s RIGOONI presents a marked contrast in tone, and shows off the delicate production style that’s earned him releases on Balanced Music, The Soundgarden and Higher States.

Closing the EP is collaborative cut ‘Central Park’ from Sevastopol native Mango and Qatar’s A.M.R. Leading with emotive piano chords, the duo showcase their intricate sound design that has seen them both release on notable labels including Monstercat Silk.

"  An artist with a growing reputation within the underground dance fraternity, Sebastian Sellares makes his Meanwhile debut with his "Dunes at Dawn" EP.

After a 2018 debut for PHW Elements, Sebastian Sellares has made increasingly sizeable waves with his smooth and unique musical style. Already seeing his music signed to an array of high-profile imprints including onedotsixtwo, UV and Or Two Strangers, Proton Music's "Zen State / Jinsei" was a further notable highlight in October 2020 including remixes from Matias Chilano and Bedrock's Nick Muir.

The title-track opener is a gloriously atmospheric offering that builds gently over a rhythmic foundation of rolling top-line groove and pounding beat. Filtered pads soon enter the fray followed by atmospheric birdsong effects and rippling arpeggiated synth line that resonate with the "Dunes at Dawn" title. Rising to a spine-tingling zenith at the mid-point alongside deep, captivating bassline, the second half continues the rich melodic collage creating a sumptuous start to the EP.

Continuing the powerful rhythmic basis of the opener, "The Stars Above" scintillates with its chugging rhythmic vibe and syncopated bassline pattern. Evolving through subtle percussive urgency, dreamlike pads float across the mid-range beside steam-powered white noise waves, before intricately programmed synth plucks complete the foundations. Before long, undulating arpeggios glitter in delayed patterns as counterpoint phrasing adds emotion and guile to create a contemplative offering.

"Nocturne" completes the musical triptych, revelling in a subtle melodic hypnotism that blends acid-tinged loop with flowing analogue motifs. Panning the stereo spectrum with plucked phrases, a magnificent combination of counterpoint melodies rise and fall across a nine-minute magnum opus that results in another string to Sellares' increasingly powerful bow.

Melodic maestro French-Canadian producer @gabrhome and the versatile @evrenfurtuna use their different cultural backgrounds to create an evocative, watery melodic exploration named after that traveller in two worlds, the salmon, swimming now against, now with the current, in waters both sweet and salt. ‘Salmo Salar’ has a sizzling summer touch. Its intro blends mingling mood-inducing chords in voices and strings, taking us underwater before a light but determined beat kicks in, spangled with piano arpeggios and snatches of melody as the spiritual vocals continue to evoke a watery vibe. The sustained breakdown surprises with a new clarinet tune, almost middle eastern, marking a shift of phase, after which a freer, jazzy feel predominates. ‘Salmo Salar’ launches on Saisons on July 10.
