NastyCutz is finally back! A journey through all things deep, dark & nasty, NastyCutz 2 brings you 10 sizzling tracks from some of the nastiest producers around.

The journey starts on the lighter side of things, with a return for Tuneon, who fresh from a host of releases on cool labels since his DeepCutz entry, returns with some REAL disco. A reminder of the timeless tracks from old and a testament to how funky the genre can be...

Following on from this, new to the label, but making himself at home with one of the nastiest entries in this year's collection, Syap's 'Unaware' is dirty, dark music, putting together seriously messed up vocal effects and a killer vibe to set the mood to something a little more sinister.

For the 3rd entry, Superb Ecuadorian artist Andre Salmon and Russian maestro Upstroke combine forces to extreme effect with the massive Sex Tape. Combining nasty vocals, huge sub-lines, and a funky 'tongue in cheek' hook, the pair construct an absolute monster to drop when you most need it.

Also new to the label is local Leeds lad, Rick Hirst, whose penchant for killer grooves is reflected in his entry; Sniffin; a minimal number that doesn't require and frills or spills to ensure a fine example of upfront, out-and-out HOUSE, (made 100% for those club speakers with the gain on full).

A special warm welcome from NFR is for Sishi Rosch and his unmistakeable & inimitable style that sees this years hip-house entry on the collection. A sure fire ghetto bomb with short-stab sampled vocals off the beat, a contagious hooky melody and superb atmospherics. A guaranteed mood/game changer.

Rising stars, Clouded Judgement's first entry onto the compilation and their introduction to NFR also marks the arrival of Brasilian artist Diamn via their collaboration. A really fresh take on the scene with its combination of a number of subgenres, pushing the track darker and deeper with it's contagious rhythm, creative breakdowns and recognisable vocal snippet. Plus it sounds massive too!

Keeping a very different vibe, Malicious Joy's 'Wasted', feels like two separate, equally fantastic tracks. Part 1 is a sexy, ridiculously groovy, piece of percussive tech-house; whilst the second half of the track introduces a real bass guitar that takes it to the next level, giving it a real edge, and driving it forward as a memorable piece of dance music.

NastyFunk family-member Heston's contribution to the fray is something a little different and freshens up the compilation. A swinging old school groover laden with samples, 90's vibes and delicious percussive harmonies, plus of course the unmistakeable super-groovy style that we've come to expect from Heston; Swing That Body

The second offering on the label from Clouded Judgement, is an atmospheric super-stomper, that sees them working hand in hand with prolific French producer, Rafael Cerato in the accomplished track 'We Can Do'.  A bass synth bursting with flavour and a self-assured huge kick/clap rhythm make sure that the track brims with personality, throughout.

Last but most certainly not least, from Curitiba, Brazil, we introduce, N.E.R.Y. Welcomed into NastyFunk with his thoughtful nasty-disco number; All U Want, the haunting vocals merge perfectly with it's tightly constructed, simple but effective bass-hook topped up with an original percussive arrangement to add his fine entry to the list.

For their first release in 2014, NastyFunk Records combine once again with hip-house maestro Sishi Rosch for a truly underground EP jam-packed with flavour, funk and originality. 

Each one of the 4 mixes has it’s own personality, and it’s no doubt that the 2 originals are the backbone of the release. With The Majik Joint, Sishi Rosch brings his fun-loving style to the forefront, using a curiously effective combination of percussive effects, sexy vocal cuts and killer synths to give us an epic groove for the title track. For ‘Planet Funk’, Sishi switches the mood upside down and turns up the breakbeat voltage to dangerous levels, giving us a moody, malevolent banger guaranteed to leave a trail of destruction wherever it goes.  

For the remixes, NastyFunk turn to both one of their own and a new face on the scene for alternative takes. Artists DJ Glen and Jack Priest have seen huge success recently, smashing the charts with their own cuts respectively on Green Velvet/Cajmere’s imprint, Cajual, and their remixes don’t disappoint, simply oozing creativity. Jack Priest takes the mood super deep, reworking chords to give us an old school pad lying behind a soul-searching bass hook, and the vocals take on a new meaning as the mix gets low. In addition, and wowing us once again with his off-the-wall creativeness, DJ Glen throws in a huge splash of Brasilian flair, with a minimalistic arrangement surrounding the trippy heart of this funk bomb.

For their 22nd release, NastyFunk Records turn to Rio De Janeiro producers, Toucan, for a huge helping of electronic funk. Having already remixed for the imprint, Toucan's return to the label showcases the versatility of the Brazilian duo, and their breakbeat smothered house number, ‘Back It Up’ is as nasty as they come.

Remixing the track, Patrick Podage (Noir, Circle Music) fuses elements of deep house and techno in his sophisticated edit, marking his debut appearance for the label. Full of groove and class, this rework is a true testament to the producer’s huge success recently across the house hemisphere and a perfect compliment to the original.

The third entry, ‘Way Home’, finishes the release in style with it’s loose grooves and carefree vibes; rounding off a tasty EP.
