This is the studio version of a special track I performed “live” at the funeral of the late Reverend Elder Setu Maliko Masina. Setu was one of the founding Ministers of the PIC movement in New Zealand and a highly respected icon of the Porirua community. Regarded as a “spiritual leader” to many of us from within the Porirua community, it was a very humbling experience to be asked to perform this song on behalf of the family. Setu will be sorely missed. Se aso tatou toe fa’atasi ai. (Till we meet again…)

In association with SWPIC and Tokoroa Community Youth Week. IPRO's MUSIC MENTORING programme "AHA" helped develop a number of songs through their AHA music mentoring programme school workshops and 2 songs were chosen and re developed and recorded. This song was written by students from Forest View High School. Thank you to Tomorrow People's Manager/Producer AVINA KELEKOLIO for providing the beat and also NZ RNB GROUP CYDEL's Dee Letoa for recording the vocals. This is an example of a collaborative community project and we hope that we can use this as a model to create more feel good music to encourage community development from the ground up and empower our young people. The Tokorua Youth week theme was "BE THE CHANGE"  - AHA is a music mentoring programme run by IPRO - a pacific led consulting company based in Auckland.

FIRSTLY (TJ TAOTUA)

This is a SPICE (Songwriting for Pasifika Familiies using Identity, Culture and Education) based programme and a partnership between Pasifika Foundation Trust, Aha Music Mentoring, Pasifika Futures Ltd and the Play and Learn Centre in King Street Papatoetoe. A group of parents of the early child hood centre and wrote a song about "FAMILY". This song was the outcome of that very positive and productive meeting.
