Maybe someday I'll muster up the discipline to record an entire Christmas record. Meanwhile, this is a cover recording of a song I did many years back which was engineered by the multi-talented Rich Belkin (also electric guitar and keys) at his 'Breaking Wind' home studio.
Kristi Diaz lifts this song up singing alternating verses with me (with Dr. Henry Diaz on harmony).  The song is titled "New Star Shining" written by John & Johanna Hall and has been recorded by many (including Orleans and The Gaither Band) -- but Ricky Skaggs'/James Taylor's rendition was the one I first heard. I played my '96 Collings D3 acoustic guitar on this track.  Merry Christmas season to friends and family !

What a sad day it was to hear of Father Peter Young's recent passing.
I feel honored to have been a life long friend of the man that I admired since my High School days. In today's Times-Union a song of mine was quoted in his obituary. In an effort to pay homage and honor this courageous hero and friend I thought it would be appropriate send it out for all to hear. You can listen to this tribute by clicking on the live link below. 
As much as I do respect my lyrics, what I read from John Sweeney's quote last week stood out as being the most eloquent and powerful 
statement one could imagine. It was a perfect synopsis of who and what Peter Young stood and fought for.
