Bio OFF Land:

Formed in 2004 by Tim Dwyer, an artist and musician from New England. His sound has 
been influenced by meditative music such as Javanese gamelan and minimal drone. 
Dwyer's music is sparse yet texturally intricate, lying in some sort of 
electro-acoustic limbo between Namlook's more dusty ambient collaborations, 
literal Phonography and contemporary classical experimentalism. 

His newest release: the "Goshawk EP", will be out on March 8th on Stasis Recordings:

Bio Loose Link:

Making sounds since 2007, Loose Link is an artist and musician from New Zealand.
His sounds is influnced from a wide range of genres including big beat, trip-hop,
sampled music and ambient. Loose Link is known for his highly layered soundscapes
and mixes for a variety of radio shows and podcasts from around the world. He is 
also known for creating and organising Terminal Radio, which has attracted the likes
of DJ Food, FSOL, Mixmaster Morris, Nmesh, Ross Baker, Neotropic plus many many more.
He has also co-organised Eccoplex with Nmesh, which explored Vaporwave in a similiar 
fashion.

His newest release "Neo Tropico" will be out April 2015 on Illuminated Paths, and 
will feature many different styles and collaborations:

Both artists are also currently working on a new longform EP together called 
"Hyperbird", originally just a track for Neo Tropico, it is now an expansive 
multi-part composition which will also feature live instrumentation from both parties. 
Coming early-mid 2015.

Thoughts, by Ramon Inc., is an album that confronts the invisible—what we think but don't say. A dense and visceral project that delves into thoughts about global conspiracies, systemic corruption, distorted spirituality, fear of the future, and the silent collapse of faith, love, and order.

With sounds ranging from cinematic IDM horror to experimental bossa nova, including Arabic samples with trap, hyperpop, dark house, opera synthpop, and even IDM jazz, the album is a chaotic and spiritual journey in which each track offers a vision, a release, or a critique of our fragmented existence. Ramon blends broken beats, dark atmospheres, and unsettling melodies to paint a portrait of a world where fame and money compete at the altar—but are they drugs or weapons of manipulation?

Inspired by artists like Kanye West, Camila Cabello, beabadoobee, Clairo, Metro Boomin, Future, Yung Lixo, Alok, The Weeknd, and many others, Thoughts is a collage of genres, voices, and visions. There are no easy answers here. Only difficult questions: What are we doing with our time? Are our churches still sacred? Do social media liberate or enslave us? Is there redemption after death—or just more control?

With suffocating atmospheres, rhythmic experimentation, and lyrics that shift between revolt and resignation, Ramon delivers a disconcerting, powerful, and contemporary album.

Thoughts is not just an album. It's a mirror of modern paranoia.

The Bobby Donny label hits number four with a first EP of 2016. After efforts from label owner Frits Wentink and Eindhoven producer SAN2, this one comes from Tlim Shug. The low-profile American producer has only one EP to his name so far, but it was an impressive one that came on Echovolt Records last year and suggested he has a passion for moody and lo-fi deep house.

'Rari Techno' is up first and operates in an underground cavern. It sets a sombre tone with its swirling pads and buried deep kicks all obscured by a grainy sheen of dust. That analogue warmth continues with 'Wig $plit' which has a loose and raw percussive line laid over tender piano chords, bumpy drums and a gritty vocal rap. It’s a fresh fusion that will get clubs on their toes before 'Mutuality' again sounds all knackered and broke, scuffed up and imperfect with its squelchy synths, off time hits and stuttering kicks. Last of all 'Overcaste Tune' is another zoned out and moody deep house offering that sounds like L.I.E.S. artist Terekke at his best. This is a brilliantly insular and atmospheric EP that oozes subtle emotion and a cautious sense of optimism.

Brandon Knocke is a Portland-based musician who may be more familiar to you as @Body-san. Knocke has released music under a number of different aliases throughout the years, perhaps most notably as Discoverer, on the dreamier and more experimental side of the spectrum. His music as Body-San has a similar flavour to it, keeping that same West Coast haziness but generally in a more house-leaning direction. With two fantastic long format cassette tapes released via 100% Silk and 1080p, as well as a couple of singles over the past two years, Body-san is back with his first 12" which will be released by East London's Lo Recordings, a label that has quietly been around for 20 years, releasing music from a very wide variety of artists.

"Pacific Reasons" is a four track EP chock-full of sun-kissed melodies, warm chords and crisp percussion. From the twilight vibes of 'Topaz Chalice' to the meditative feelings of 'Central Casting' and 'Liquid Entrance', Brandon Knocke's music continues to evoke emotion while still being dance floor appropriate. The title track and our premiere today, B1 'Pacific Reasons' starts off very subdued with some airy chords and hazy atmospheres. The drums and bass act more like supportive elements in this slowly developing moody number rather than being up front and centre. Vocal melodies and synth lines emerge from the mist, like the sun peaking in through early morning fog until we get a chance to bask in the full warmth of its rays, but only for a brief moment as it is once again submerged in the clouds.
