In southern Jordan you will find the 280 square miles (720 km2) Wadi Rum desert. 
The locals call Wadi Rum “Wadi Al-Qamr”, or “Valley of the Moon”. The name is fitting:
like the moon, it inspires those who come to witness it. The endless red sand dunes are matched only by the majesty of the granite and sandstone mountains and the complete, star-filled night sky that appears throughout the depths of the night. Traveling to Wadi Rum is traveling to an area that, outside from the outcropping of a small village and tourist attractions, has remained essentially unchanged for thousands of years. These hot desert days and chill nights have been the same for millennia.

Throughout it all, for the last five thousand years, the Bedouins of Wadi Rum survive. Nearly all the native inhabitants of Wadi Rum are bedouins. Here, they live in the Rum Village and in the desert, some families moving from place to place as the climate demands. Their livelihood, traditionally dependant on the animal husbandry of raising goats and camels, has been supplemented but not replaced by the advent of tourism.

Bedouin lives are shrouded in mystery and myth to those outside the tribes. Stories and legends like those found in Lawrence of Arabia romantically capture their rugged individualism but honestly fail to truly get at the lives of one of the few remaining nomadic people on the planet.

Following the release of Dutch producer Djordje Petrovic aka Satori’s ‘In Between Worlds’ L.P on Underyourskin Records the imprint delivers a follow up remix package, welcoming an array of exciting producers in the world of electronic music. The Underyourskin imprint has been active since 2012 and is home to artist such as Krink, Jonas Saalbach, Schlepp Geist and Yapaac, and here we see it push on with some more intelligent and intriguing compositions.

Opening up the package is German producer Acid Pauli’s take on ‘The Whising Spell’ seeing him deliver his typically melodious and mind-bending style with sparse rhythms, arpeggio hooks and gradually unfolding synth sequences. The Micronaut’s ‘Days Without You’ remix follows and takes things into electronica realms with warbling square wave bass and broken beats layered under Miou Amadee’s soulful vocal styling’s.
Dutch duo Änimal then turn in a dropped tempo hypnotic rework of ‘Wasted feat Hugo’ next, laying the focus on subtly blooming pad lines, drawn out bass tones and bubbling percussive hits.
Berlin’s Mario Aureo switches things up into dubby realms, turning ‘We Don’t Exist’ into a dance floor workout with fluttering stab hits, a mesmeric synth hook and shuffled drum lines.
Kris Davis then rounds off the package with his interpretation of ‘Wasted feat Hugo’ delivering a charming bass driven take, employing dreamy bell chimes, elongated sub bass and expansive atmospherics.
