All the charecters stories are so sad if I’m being honest

Storytime! This follows patient Allen Shore, a man who suffers from severe Nyctophobia (fear of the dark). It effects his everyday life, so much so that he purchases a lighthouse as his home so he'd never be in the dark. One night, he has such a severe episode, that he sets his house on fire with a flare gun. His nightmares of monsters consuming him into darkness sending him into a spiral. He attempted to take his own life in this fire. However..it did not work. Allen's consciousness is an antagonistic character in the game. His monster is known as "The Shade", a moving. Living sinkhole. A manifestation of his fear and obsession with the dark, while Allen finds safety in the light. The Shade fears it, avoiding light at all costs. It will do anything in its power to remove all light sources in an attempt to keep the real Allen's soul trapped.
