2 years in the making, "Verbatim" the second full length album by tmj, and attempts to capture the mood of the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic that made the world stand still, at least for tmj. Darker themes and palettes color the record from beginning to end, with rises in light and dark, positive and negative.

The album is more experimental than past works by tmj and incorporates the same sample heavy themes but with synth-y, ethereal keys, heavy samples and colorful sound effects. Driving boom bap and laid back grooves ebb and flow throughout the record; a push and pull of waves for the ears. A step back from some earlier lo-fi sounds, "Verbatim" offers a more clear sonic experience than past records by the artist.

Overall the record is a step in a new direction for tmj, while staying true to the artists roots and love for old school hip hop and sample based music.
