TM Next - Soft AC

Nation Radio has unveiled a brand new station sound, built around a new jingle package and sonic logo from TM Studios.

The jingles are already on air across South and West Wales and will be rolled out across Nation’s sister stations throughout September, including Nation Radio UK and Nation Radio Scotland. There are also custom themes for Nation 70s, 80s and 90s, and a new sound for Nation Love and Nation Rocks to be debuted.

The jingles accentuate Nation’s new positioning statement; “Get That Feeling”, and Nation’s imaging partner Devaweb have updated the station’s sweepers.

Neil Greenslade, Nation’s Group Programme Director said: “We’re absolutely delighted with our new station sound! We wanted something fresh & dynamic and the team at TM worked closely with us to deliver on this. The jocks love using them as much as we love hearing them.

In early 2023, Boom Radio returned to TM Studios for a new selection of jingles to add to their collection. These new cuts span over 40 years of the TM catalogue, and are now on air on the UK's fastest growing radio station.

TM iJIngles Montage Summer 2023

When Nation Broadcasting wanted to launch a brand new retro countdown show hosted by legendary chart presenter Dr Fox, they asked us to create a set of jingles and production elements that punch through on today's radio, yet reflect the 70s, 80s and 90s music featured on the programme.

We had a blast creating these tracks, and big thanks to Dain Blair for use of the "Pepsi Chart" melody of the original show.

WLS-FM Classic Hits

TM Studios is proud to have created a package of custom music themes for Magic Classical, as the first project in a new multi-year partnership with the Magic Radio brand.

The tracks reflect the different eras of classical music, including Baroque and Romantic, and were recorded by musicians in the UK and the USA.

Chris Ward, Group Operational Director at Bauer Media Audio UK, said “We challenged TM to compose a set of jingles as beautiful and iconic as the music on Magic Classical, and they absolutely delivered. The detail in each theme is incredible.”

The Ticket

TM Studios have recorded a brand new set of music themes for military charity and media organisation, BFBS (British Forces Broadcasting Service). The 10 themes cover the range of music playlisted on BFBS Radio’s channels and can now be heard on their transmissions in 16 countries around the world.

Included in the package are beds and sounders for BFBS’s music shows, themes, news, and information programmes, plus special music for the station’s weekly chart countdown.

Sam Bailey, BFBS Deputy Director, said: “We were ready to refresh the sound of BFBS, and after a competitive pitch process, we were confident that TM Studios were the right partner to help us evolve our on-air branding. BFBS 2025

When Bauer Media set out to refresh the entire Magic Radio brand, from breakfast through Mellow Magic. They turned to a name steeped in radio heritage: TM Studios.

Following a competitive pitch, TM was commissioned to build a full sonic identity for Magic’s rebrand, including Gok Wan & Harriet Scott’s new breakfast show and the network’s iconic evening show Mellow Magic. The brief was clear: make Magic feel fresh again, while staying true to its warm, familiar personality.

Chris Stevens and Dave Bethell led the project for TM Studios.

“Magic was evolving,” explains TM Studios co-owner Chris Stevens, “and that gave us the opportunity to create a sound that connects generations of listeners, from those who already know and trust Magic Radio, to new audiences discovering it for the first time.”

The resulting melody is instantly memorable: simple, singable, and backed by a vocal sound designed to be unmistakably Magic Radio. Each theme was recorded with a blend of UK and US session talent, capturing the richness of the brand’s playlist, from timeless soul to modern pop and even the theatrical flair of Magic Musicals.

Bauer’s Group Operations Director Chris Ward says the collaboration has paid off:

“TM have created the perfect jingle package for Magic Radio. It’s contemporary, friendly, and the new melody immediately sticks in your head. It’s exactly what we were after.”

The project also extends across Magic Radio’s brand extensions including Magic Soul, Magic Musicals and Magic Christmas, uniting the network under one melodic DNA, a move that signals how seriously Bauer is treating sonic branding in 2025.

“We wanted the Magic identity to sound like it feels,” adds TM Studios Co-Owner Dave Bethell. “Friendly, familiar and warm, but with a confident modern polish.”
