“People can you hear me, here’s a message that I’m sending now”… Ringing a bell? To all the fans of the modern era of EDM, the iconic single ‘Leave The World Behind’ by Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello shouldn’t come across as unknown, being quite often connected to Ultra Music Festival and the beautiful sunset view over Bayfront Park. The original release played a big role, like the trio’s music in general, in creating and shaping up the golden years of EDM. Today, the highly emerging artists Egzod & Lunis joined forces to revive LTWB’s iconic melodies and lyrics with their electric trap cover, bringing us all back to 2009.

Egzod explains the reasoning behind the cover: “Leave The World Behind” was one of the first House tracks that made me want to get into making music and DJ-ing back in 2009. It’s a song that is attached to a lot of my great early day memories, and so I wanted to revisit it. Besides, as the world & economy is finally starting to reopen again after more than a year of demoralization, I hope that this song will inspire people to focus on the positive things and keep moving forward with what makes them happy.

Lunis continues: “Leave the world behind you… These words resonate differently during this strange phase we are all living in, deprived of live music and the exchange that this implies, with the artist and the audience. What if we all took a moment to close our eyes, and forget the world’s problems by letting ourselves be carried away to the rhythm of this 2021-rework of Swedish house Mafia hit single?”

The forthcoming release ‘Say Goodbye’ sees the Dutch talent B3RROR joining forces with the fellow countryman Sketchez and the absolutely
fabulous vocalist Marie Kavli for an euphoric future bass collaboration. Despite the track’s cheerful soundscape, its theme revolves around a more serious theme, telling a story about battling with an eating disorder and the struggle of breaking out of it. 

The 21-year-old B3RROR is a highly intriguing name in the scene - while strictly maintaining his focus on quality over quantity with his single releases on Spinnin’, STMPD and Seeking Blue, the skilled producer has also collaborated with the superstar KSHMR (‘Lies’) on Spinnin’ Records, besides being one of the songwriters in his most recent studio album - Midnight Lion Walk. After digging deeper to the Dutch artist’s recent productions, it’s safe to expect a proper breakthrough looming on the horizon.

The songwriter Kjersti Sleveland explains the backstory: “Even though you could imagine the lyrics telling a story about an unhealthy relationship, the theme actually revolves around battling with an eating disorder, and how controlling the obsession can be. It starts out pretty awesomely (just like in a relationship), while you think you got everything under control and you feel soooo good.. But then slowly the disorder takes control of you and you wish that you could just walk away... But that’s way harder than said, as you’re not behind the wheel in this ride.”

B3RROR sheds some light to the creation process: “This song started off with the guitar. Sketchez played a riff which we used as the foundation for the track, which can clearly be heard during the breaks. As soon as we had a clear idea and direction for the breaks, we came into the conclusion that the drop had to have a big climax with an energetic future bass soundscape. The intriguing contrast between having a very electronic drop and an organic break is what makes this song so unique. Marie Kavli then went on and completed the idea with her perfectly fitting topline”.

Imagine a world without spoken words and languages, where all the interaction between people and other creatures would be a mix of different sounds and signs with an abysmal amount of combinations how to express your feelings. Fusing different genres together, into a fascinating harmony of trap, wave and future bass, 32Stitches & Slowpalace take us for an otherwordly 3-minute ride into a realm of dark instrumental melodies and haunting, distorted vocal samples - for a journey so captivating, that one won’t even realise the track not having any vocals.

Slowpalace & 32Stitches comments: “Reflection” is a melancholic and emotional future bass/wave track that follows suit to our previous collaboration, “Full Throttle”. Reflection follows the same motif with soaring leads, distorted soundscapes, punchy basslines, and grand melodies.”

It’s going to be a day of firsts on September 17th, as 32Stitches & Slowpalace make their debuts on Future Generation, as well as getting the honor to have the first instrumental track being released on the label. The release of ‘Reflection’ sees the talented producers coming back for their second collaboration in 2021, with the intention of continuing their success after the release of ‘Full Throttle’ on Proximity earlier in the year. 

‘Reflection’ is Slowpalace at his best, being true to his signature, instrumental style within the wave/future bass genres. The Indian dj/producer 32Stitches’ influence can also be clearly heard in the track, fusing together the best of the both worlds. Slowpalace’s creative freedom in the studio has put him on the radar of multiple notable media outlets, such as Your EDM and This Song Slaps, which went as far as nominating the California-based producer as an Artist-to-Watch in 2021, leading to releases on top-tier labels Monstercat and Proximity. The collaborator 32Stitches is no stranger in the trap/future bass scene either, having become a household name with his hit singles ‘Astronomia’ and ‘Requiem for A Dream’, reaching tens of millions of streams across all platforms, besides being one of the most promising Indian artists out there.
